So I played my first freeroll on PS. I finished 25 out of 7500 (took 5 hours...nightmare) and earned a week 2 ticket entry. How long is this ticket good for? Is it only for the week? The only weekly round 2 tourney I can find so far is a Saturday NL Holdem.

I was thinking if the ticket has an expiration I'd join it, but if not I'd hold onto it.

Thanks in advance for your help

It's good for the rest of your natural life.

At least it appears so since I have one in my account from May 2008.

I just can't remember to play on the weekly tournament.

Maybe it is 'just another ticket' ... but it's a ticket to a cash prize pool of $2,000. You played hours for 'ticket', why not play a few hours more for cash ?? ...

Unless they've changed it recently, the Saturday FR is always NLHE while the Sunday FR alternates between a lot of games. On my tickets I've played mostly Stud8 when it's offered and several of the alternating games ARE 'limit' games (if you're interested in that kind of structure).

They are non-expiring !!

ya, thats true, maybe i should. its just that its another 12-15k(i forget but its somewhere in there) people to get through and to get to any payout thats substantial you have to get into the top 5% or something close to that, and that would take a long time. i guess id rather just play some full ring cash game of some kind. i also forgot to say that its hard for me to find time on the weekends to play these as i work a lot then.:(

if i were to play one i would suggest to play one of the sunday games cause the NL tourney on saturday is quite a donkument for the first couple hours. ive tried a couple and if u dont get a hand early youll be blinded of before play gets a little more realistic.

Do what works for you, but if you have a ticket, you took the time to play a freeroll. Sure, the top levels of ITM make the bigger $$, but that's the way MTT's work (for the most part).

Sat or Sundays are pretty much donkaments (imo), but that's standard for any freeroll regardless of payout structure. Stars payouts aren't too bad in these considering they pay approx 18-17% of the field. Hard to get blinded out early in these since the blind levels are every 15 minutes. These aren't the turbo games.

I have two tickets that still show on pokerstars menu from 2007 - they are for depositing money in my account. I have not found those freerolls - must be on weekends where I have not looked for them. I'm surprised to see they are still alive.

Thanks for the info fellas.

I'll for sure be using it since I endured 5 hours of play to get there.

Thanks again.

The $2K freerolls occur on Sat @ 7AM PT & Sun @ 11AM PT, unsure of your time zone so please adjust accordingly:

>>perry...PS had a 'new depositors' series of $2.5K freerolls (for cash & entries to $25K tournies...restricted to new & additional depositors) in mid-Dec. You may want to check with PS Support, there's a possibility your 2007 tix can be used the next time they have these new depositor freerolls.

It's usually around 5,000-6,000 for the NLHE game on Saturday, and less on Sunday for the alternate poker game.

Well done on the win but, in my opinion, its a long time for a ticket.
I once played the round 1 freeroll at Fulltilt with 10000 players and got top 250 for an entry to the weekly $1000 freeroll. Once in the round 1 freeroll I pick up KK on the 2nd hand and got busted  . I would just stick $10 in and be done with it. Still, goodluck in your game :)

so your sayin that only 5-6k people register? thats quite a bit less then back when i was playin these. the max amount of entrants is 32500, which is ridiculous but also unlikely. 5-6 aint too bad.

what has happened to me is that i dont get a hand for a long time, usually till after the first break. ill be down to like 1200-1300 from the blinds and playin small-medium pp's or a sc or two for cheap and then when i do get a monster all the stacks at my table will be like 5-10k cause its a freeroll and the donkalliners have now got their chips so when i push i get called by 3 or 4 big stacks and my As/Ks get squashed. leaves a bad taste in my mouth. so because of that i feel ripped of for spending 5+ hrs getting my ticket to play another donkument freeroll. life is too short for that.
