I am interested in your opinion about the poker room of poker stars. All my friends lose only in this poker room, and I lose too, no matter what game is in poker or casino. Do you win or lose, and what do you think of what's going on there?

I think you and your friends are not playing very good poker, or are plying at too high a level.

Sounds like you're asking if PS is rigged. It isn't. There are lots of threads on here relating to this. You should read them.

The number and variety of games offered by pokerstars is in first place among other poker rooms. Regarding the game on PokerStars, I personally am in the red. Yes, there are good days and winnings, but I lose more often. One gets the feeling that the random number generator for my country, the players in my country gives the same low interest for wins on the same days. During the last gaming week with AA monster hands, I lost 15 times in a row !!. It was unbelievable, because AA usually has to win at 80% of the draw. After that, I took a break for a week to move away from such bad luck😂

The principle of the game is the same in all poker rooms, this is my personal opinion. If you know how to play poker, you can win at any poker room. I like pokerstars for its very simple and easy to use interface and design. Sometimes there are challenges due to which you can earn a bankroll. Once I managed to earn $ 110 with my bankroll at $ 0, and the second time with the help of challenge I earned $ 75 and spent only a few $ on challenge. Everything is real, the main thing is to play correctly and constantly monitor promotions and challenges). Believe in yourself)!

Probably 90% of all poker players lose in the long run. This is because, the games are raked, so the only sure long term winner is the house. So there is nothing unusual about you and all your friends losing. This is completely normal and expected, unless you are among the 10% "sharks".

As for PokerStars it is by far the largest western facing site. This is good for game selection, but it also mean, that games are not among the softest on the internet. Its easy for "sharks" to get involved in as many games, as they like, and therefore they are attracted to PokerStars, like real sharks are attracted to a big school of fish.

PokerStars have recently taken steps to soften their cash games a bit by limiting the number of tables, anyone can play, from 24 to 4. This is a pretty drastic measure, and I actually think, it has helped. I am mainly playing at 888 at the moment, but on my few visits to PokerStars after the change, games seemed to be significantly softer and looser.

I really like Pokerstars. I have had the least problems with their software and they have such a variety of games and a huge player pool and it is easy to find both small fields and large fields at all different buyins.

Saying that I am giving 888 more of a go recently as do not like how so many of the satellites finish way into the tourney whereas 888 either give you a ticket for later use or seem to time the satellites to finish before the start of the main tournament. On Stars I often find I have to get in the top 10% in the satellite, and then place in a tournament disadvantaged at the start by sometimes placing an hour and half into the tournament.

However it really only the satellites on Stars that bothers me and do still play a lot there.

Really? ALL the tournaments? I play a number of tournaments on Stars and I can guarantee you that they are not all-in shove matches - not all of them! freerolls can be like that sometimes, but there are less and less freerolls in Pokerstars these days. You really have to work to find them. This message board, cardschat, actually runs some freerolls on Stars and that's part of the reason I came here. Try one of the cardschat freerolls. Another suggestion I would have for you is to try the tournaments in the PokerSchool. The PokerSchool site is down today (Aug 29) but hoping it is back up by tomorrow. You will either be eligible for the Initiation tournament or the Masters, depending on if you have made a deposit on the site, and how long you have been in the school. It's all explained on the site, or I can try and answer your questions here if you like!

Good luck on the tables!

Oh, one more thing! When I say the PokerSchool, I mean the PokerSchool that is PART OF the PokerStars site! I hope that doesn't cause any confusion!!!

Good luck!

I've played in two other rooms, 888 Poker and party poker, PP for me is better than PS but I think in PokerStars there is a larger variety of games to play

888 I didn't like the design of the room

I love pokerstars, I also don't win that much, not because the site is rigged (because it isn't),it's because I am not a good player!

pokerstars is imo the best room out there. it has the most games available and most population, tons of freerolls, especially this month it has been flooded with high roller event freerolls and wcoop freerolls. Alot of things have changed since i came back, even kidpoker has left pokerstars but i dont think this has anything to do with me returning to online poker.

What i also like about pokerstars is their school section. you will learn alot on there and if u follow those basic tactics they teach you, you will start cashin very soon. Even if you are a more experienced player, just gettin a few refreshers to get ur state of mind on the correct vibe is really great.

their casinos are also fun and theres always challenges that you can participate in for a micro investment and get lucky.

i started my online poker on partypoker around 14 years ago i think. even won a microstakes tourny but eventually went to pokerstars. the reason for this i dont remember. It was probaly recomended by friends who played at PS but back then partypoker used to be really fun and attractive. you had a badbeat jackpot, u could win lambos. things used to be crazy in online poker. even pokerstars had crazy prizes years ago. sadly, everything has simmered down but now that partypoker has banned huds, i will probaly play some tournies there again.

pokerstars still seems like the best pokerroom out there and ive tried a few like, full tilt and everest poker

In my opinion I have played multiple poker rooms and pokerstars is not any worse than other ones. So I would not say its the worst room but also very difficult to succeed.

A player winning or loosing has zero to do with the poker room.
It has to do with either skill of player or luck of player.

Pokerstars is the best poker room on the planet.

Best software, best security, best customer service. Lightning fast withdrawal options. The widest selection of games. Games available 24/7 at all levels whether you a high roller a microstakes player or a play money player.

Best bonuses and promotions. Largest online tournament series. They also have homegames where you can play poker with your friends

You're partly right, but not entirely. There are many free tournaments on pokerstars. And after half an hour everyone starts going all in as soon as a normal hand comes. I can't go to school. And I don't really like playing cash. So let us hope that here I will find the money tournaments where can be normally play

Hi there!

There are many free tournaments on PokerStars? Where??? Can you list a few for me? At least it's not like the "old" days - and I'm talking back to 2010-2011 or so. There used to be a set of freerolls called the Astronomer (sp?) Freerolls. There would run all day, every day at various times and were named after various scientists/astronomers (for some reason! LOL). And they were open to EVERYONE. These were discontinued a few years back with NO replacements.

Also, all the tourneys in the PokerSchool used to be freerolls. And you could win some pretty good money on the Monthly Leaderboards (for the School Leagues). Thats's how I built a lot of my bankroll back in the day. The current school Leagues are the Initiation (for new players only) which ARE freerolls, but most people can't play those. Then there is the "Masters" League (poorly named, because you don't have to be any kind of "master" player to play in them). All you need is your 25 cents for each tournament. Not only that, but you pay real money to enter these, but if you are lucky enough to get ITM in one of these they "pay" you with T$ !!!! ?!??!?!!!! What?!?!? How can they justify charging you real $$ to play, but pay out in T$ ?? Maybe it's a minor point, because most of us will just use our winnings to play more tournaments, but consider this: I recently finished ITM in one of the Masters (CA) tournaments for the su of approx. $4 US. But what I got was T$4. Now you tell me - would you rather have $4 US in your account, or T4$ - virtul cash that CANNOT be withdrawn? And again, remember that you had put in 25 cents for each Masters tournament that you play!!! Maybe it's a subtle distinction, but it's just one of the MANY changes Stars has made since the Amaya takeover and it seems almost every decision has been about taking a few extra cents away from the players at every turn. Now I realize that it's a business and they are in the game to make profits, but when are the profits big enough - and when are you going to show some consideration/respect to your players??

But back to FREEROLLS. I find almost all of the freerolls on Stars these days come from 3rd party souces - like cardschat here, or promotions within the school, such as attending training sessions to get a School Pass freeroll ticket. Maybe they will soon start charging us a fee to sit in on the training sessions too? LOL.

So, where are all these freeerolls of which you speak? Thanks!

Good luck on the tables!!

Hi again! One more point I wanted to address in your comment. You talk about people staring to go all in after about 30 min. In MY experience, I find the all-in people (some of us like to call them "shove monkeys") are often shoving from the very first hand - trying to either build a really big stack early. And if they bust, they figure "oh well, it was ONLY a freeroll" These people kind of ruin the game for the rest of us who want to play "good" poker and learn the game. Having said that, these "shove monkeys" do give us (the smarter players) a chance to double up or better if we get a monster in our hole cards. So it's not ALL bad.

As for "all-ins": starting about 30 min in, I'm not sure because I don't know the blind structures in the freerolls you play...but many of these are TURBO or HYPER TURBO structures that basically put most players in a shove/fold situation very early in the tournament - that could be as early as 30min in in some cases. So, even the freerolls that DO exist don't let you play much solid poker because the blinds increase SO quickly. I sure wish there were some DEEP STACKED freerolls where we could get some experience playing in deep fields with a really big number of BB's. Something more like a wsop Main Event structure. Of course not everyone wants to play for 10+ hours or over multiple days in a freeroll, but there are SOME of us out there! Give us a chance at something like that without having to fork out $11++ for a DEEP STACK tourney, or $109 (formerly $200+) for the Sunday Million. :)

Thanks for your post and good luck on the tables!!!

There are a few freerolls. At the moment they are the trip to vegas freeroll, I think this is daily, 7pm UK time awarding 50 seats into a freeroll final. Only thing is you have to win the final which is extremely tough but if you do you get a $5000 package.

I do a lot of the 888 club freerolls but find them generally a waste of time because until you get up to level 60 they are all super turbo.

I can partly see your point about the School returning money in tokens, suppose it should be cash. But I would not be drawing small amount off. The thing with the school is if you are going to go for it your playing for the leader board and then you are getting a ton of extra value if you place high.

Tournament wise its a good site,
Promotion wise it could be better,
Freeroll wise could also be better imo

Latetly i havent been winning running to hot on pokerstars either, But instead of blaming them, just take a break from the site and move to 888poker or another site and in a week or 2 go back and see if you can run deep.
sadly all sites all players and get bad-beats or dont run good sometimes its part of the game.
