I signed in to poker stars and there was a notification saying if you live in the US then you can't play for real money. I clicked ok to say I had read it then tried to join a few different games but it said I couldn't play real money games cause of the region I am in... I live in canada!!! And it says that on my account status... Did I miss something? Has anyone else experienced this and/or know what I should do???

Totally surprised me.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

I live in Canada too but have never experienced this issue. The PS software/servers should automatically determine and confirm your location through your unique IP address. Is your internet connection direct or are you connecting through a VPN service? For example, some people would use a VPN service to connect to services such as Netflix in order to bypass Netflix's regional restriction of movies/TV shows.

If you are not using a VPN service, then I would suggest to reboot your router and modem and re-attempt to play on PS. If that doesn't solve your issue, then try playing on PS from a different location (i.e. friend's home etc.) preferably first using your own (hopefully mobile) device and if the problem still exists then use a different device from that second location. Hopefully through the process of trial and error you will be able to sort it out. Good luck.

Or just send PS support a email! Within a few moments you will have an answer.

🤣😂 Well of course that's the most obvious first step but I assumed that he had already taken that step with no results and that's why he posted in the forum asking for help! But I could be wrong ... 👀

Maybe you have foreign provider. Or they indentify your IP wrong.
Or you created account while been in the US. Then you need to re-register account to the other country..

As far as I know, you have to contact the pokerstars Department and you will probably want to send them verification documents to confirm that you are an adult
