Someone will correct me, I'm sure, but for most of what you might consider Vegas Poker Pro's, the routine is Los Angeles (Commerce, Bike) for day to day play, and Vegas for events.
Having played many of the rooms in L.A, I can tell you that every day the combined tourney's will add up to 500+ players in the daylight hours, and that the tourneys are a minor thing compared to the cash games. I have not played during the night time hours. Based on guarantees, I would estimate the night time tourneys are larger. I can not verify that tho.
At the Hollywood Park Casino, which would be a minor casino when compared to either Commerce or the Bicycle Club (The Bike), I watched at least 5 tables of $20+ games.
I think, but can not verify, that the Hustler Casino does pretty good business and at a pretty high Buy-in. Parking lot was close to full on a Tuesday afternoon with cars that looked better than the cars in the lot at the Commerce. Being a tourney guy, the Hustler does not have sub $100 tourneys, so I didn't want to even walk in the door to let big tittied gals persuade me otherwise.
And FWIW, somewhere around here there is a thread with a link to results from some survey about poker rooms and the Bike was voted best. I know I like the Bike for the Nooner's (tourney). They have the only non-rebuy tourneys in town.
