I been to vegas and atlantic city. As u know Borgata is the only place to play poker if u want to play 2/5nl and up. When i went to vegas, i was shocked at the rooms. Heard so much about bellagio and it was nothing more than a cramped room with tables. I was shocked they didnt even have that many high stakes games.

The bobbys room game barely runs and the highest nl game is 10/20nl but it doesnt go always.

Borgata on the other hand on weekends always has 10/25nl and tons of 5/10nl.

Borgata been the best room I've ever been to, tops all the Vegas rooms. in Vegas I'd say my favorite was the Wynn, it ran 25/50nl games most weekends during the wsop 2 years ago and 10/25nl games pretty much every night for wsop. I heard they were struggling to get 5/10nl going though when it's not the series and it's not that huge a room in general. It's just really well run room and the floors will go out of their way to help you to get games started. Bellagio in terms of action I don't think you can beat it, it had multiple 10/20/40nl games for a bit during the series, but it is one of the worst run rooms in Vegas. Aria I had some bad experiences but I've heard from others that it's gotten better and in general gets some good higher action. Venetian is by far the biggest room but I've had a lot of bad experiences with the floor there and they're super reluctant to open anything above 5/10nl.

But yeah also the fact that if you play even a little bit at the Borgata they'll comp you weeknight rooms (only 2 at a time, but I live ~2hrs away so 3 days 2 nights plenty) along with it being a huge room with a ton of action, and the fact that it seems pretty well-run makes it the top by a mile imo.

If you want a real big high stakes NLH poker game. You'll have to set it up as a private poker game. Any casino will accommodate this type game. And you can make it as high stakes as you want. Be sure to invite your multimillionaire/billionaire friends. lol

Someone will correct me, I'm sure, but for most of what you might consider Vegas Poker Pro's, the routine is Los Angeles (Commerce, Bike) for day to day play, and Vegas for events.

Having played many of the rooms in L.A, I can tell you that every day the combined tourney's will add up to 500+ players in the daylight hours, and that the tourneys are a minor thing compared to the cash games. I have not played during the night time hours. Based on guarantees, I would estimate the night time tourneys are larger. I can not verify that tho.

At the Hollywood Park Casino, which would be a minor casino when compared to either Commerce or the Bicycle Club (The Bike), I watched at least 5 tables of $20+ games.

I think, but can not verify, that the Hustler Casino does pretty good business and at a pretty high Buy-in. Parking lot was close to full on a Tuesday afternoon with cars that looked better than the cars in the lot at the Commerce. Being a tourney guy, the Hustler does not have sub $100 tourneys, so I didn't want to even walk in the door to let big tittied gals persuade me otherwise.

And FWIW, somewhere around here there is a thread with a link to results from some survey about poker rooms and the Bike was voted best. I know I like the Bike for the Nooner's (tourney). They have the only non-rebuy tourneys in town.

I played a tourney there and did not like the experience. Uncomfortable chairs, crowded tables.

Why don't you write a review?

Results oriented ftw. Clearly the merits of any casino is directly correlated to the amount of money you have won there.

I'm not sure what the best is. I like TheBike in LA. Good Tournament structures and strictly poker. Mellow and Comfortable.

i played this small casino in Michigan in the upper and it was just 2-3 cash tables and a couple tournaments a week of bout 100 dollar buy in. anyway, i quickly realized 90% of the people playing were people that grew up there and everyone just grew up with eachother and played poker together daily. some of the kids worked there dealing and some just caused problems. Being an outsider i was quickly noticed as i walked into the poker room and they go sit down kid we will take your 100 bucks. that made me mad and i was up 500 on the blackjack table so i said why not......

these guys were just the loosest players i have ever seen. its like a hundred meant nothing to them. some of them were lucky and had 300-500 on the table but after 4 hours of playing i was up 800. didnt really get dealt amazing hands. it was just super soft competition. i was there for a family reunion which was about 20 miles from the casino. im actually looking forward to the next one this summer. see if some of my old buddies are there (=

i cant for the life of me remember what the casino was called but it was small and a great place. most people were super friendly. one of the blackjack dealers was in his 50s and grew up there and said he was making 100k a year as a comedian in vegas. he didnt do it long because he said he just got to home sick. i look forward to seeing him there next time i go.

Commerce is the largest cardroom in the world IIRC. They peak at ~200 tables.

If only they didn't rake a billion out of every pot, they literally make the 1/2 and 2/5 games unbeatable. It had both a time charge ($25/hr I think) as well as standard rake (10% up to $5 or something?). 2/5 is borderline at that rate and 1/2 I think is super unbeatable. The weird thing was that at 5/10+ (5/10 played as 5/10/20 90% of the time) they took only a time charge and still $25 with no rake. So they were taking less money in terms of dollars out of the higher stakes games than the lower ones.

I asked several of the floor people there how many poker tables they had, no one would say for sure, but several 'guessed' over 250. They do spread some non poker games, but mostly it is poker. 3 large rooms and tables in a lobby.

I did not feel comfortable in the place tho. It seemed a bit to stark for my liking.
