Ya this could be a big problem... as happened in france, where the state blocked offshore poker clients when they opened their own.

@(*% I may have to move!??

I wonder what effect this will have on bodog, if any. Did they ever start allowing canucks to play there in the end, I know they were talking about it?

This might be what is to come as we reach regulation in the US. Even though pokerstars and FTP may be right on the legal stance, it may not mean anything when a commitee will decide who gets and doesn't get licensed.

They don't give a toss about taking you all down, what they care about is revenue.

This is true. The NWO is closer than ever imagined. Living under world government is bad for the common man. Unless you live in a country that is already F'd to all hell. Then the only way to go is up.

Huh?

When did Canada (or at least those provinces) change their laws? I didn't think there was anything coming in the way off laws prohibiting online poker there.

What?? Of course Canada has gaming laws. So do the majority of develped nations in the world.

As far as I can tell, the federal government has not changed any such laws, though some provinces are re-vamping some things. Maybe the provinces that network was lisenced in changed their laws. Here in Ontario, for example, OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming) is going through a shake up of their policies, notably in the onoine gaming and private card-club sectors. Still not sure wether this a good or a bad thing.

That's terrible. Almost as terrible as the site that BCLotto opened up in BC... had huge problems,... claimed they shutdown on the very first day due to server overload but that wasn't the 'real' reason. There were huge flaws with it (but that's another story).

I've often been concerned with what will happen if they have 'legal' online poker happening.... can't imagine it'd be any good if you were stuck playing on bs sites.

Idiot Ontario Premier Mcsquinty has promised on line gambling by 2011 to help pay the Ont deficit he created.( this is the same idiot that promised to ban on line advertising sites)

Side note we will finally have some some MMA fighting in 2011 which i am sure will be heavily taxed

Let me revisit what I said... the OP notice from some dinkoff card room really means little...

In Canada, gaming is provincial jurisdiction, not federal. So if the feds want to mess with (legislate access to) online gaming they mess with the provinces, so won't happen soon..

Of course, they can always make a deal, eventually....
