Has anyone else joined the poker school that pokerstars has going on?? I recently joined and it seems to be a pretty decent thing they got going. You get unlimited tickets to freerolls where you earn points that you build to qualify for the sunday million and I guess they are also offering a $12,000 package for whichever event you want to use it for whether it be the wsop or the PCA tournaments. I could be mistaken on some of that information. I can't remember exactly but you get the idea.:D

Quite a few of the CC members are signed up at PSO. I have played in it in the passed but don't bother much with it anymore since I don;t play holdem unless it is a CC event.

Me too, I passed the test w/o taking the course, but then I had to take the course to get involved with the league freerolls. I haven't been playing any of those lately though.

it not really worth it to me really ..only a $10.00 tournament for about 500 people really does not go well,,,, I almost made the money the .01 yay book the trip with that.HA

Yes, I play in it. Lots of good articles on the site, also.

FYI: The PSO Skill league has some pretty nice prizes each month. Since the scoring setup rewards lasting to ITM consistently more than placing high, it's definitely doable to make at least a few league bucks, if you are any good at lasting long. The top prize for the month (for a real money active player) is $1500-- and IMO well worth shooting for, despite having to play a ton of hours in freerolls and making pennies as you go. The money for even the top 100 is worth it. It's not just about the step-type tourneys that you try to qualify for and win.

The issue I'm having this month is that, towards the end of the month, there seemed to be a lot of players in the PSO Skill freerolls who didn't know or didn't care about the scoring. (Some are at the bottom of the rankings, so they have nothing to lose.) So they were shoving much too much for the comfort of those of us who were trying to last in the game. This is not an unusual situation in normal freerolls, but, typically, in this league, it happens less since the focus is on staying alive as long as possible. It's not clear whether these players understood that at all. Some clearly found it funny to shove at those of us who were trying to move up. It may actually be a smart move, come to think of it. Especially if you don't care, but know the other person does. It was, however, apparent that many of these palyers weren't thinking that deeply.

So one is faced with the (very normal) problem of calling an allin with a premium hand, which may win or may get crushed -- and if it gets crushed early in the tourney, your ranking goes down the tubes. Ah well, as I say, it's a standard situation. But in most standard situations, you are risking only that tourney, not a month's worth of playing, not a ranking you have struggled to get. It's interesting, psychologically.

As I said above -- the point is to last long consistently. The league scoring rewards this, and the top prizes for the month are pretty good. It's not about the penny in that particular tourney. (Unless, of course, you have nothing at all.)

Its not so much about how much you win as it is about ranking, if you rank high in 5 games out of the month you can advance to the PSO Warm up league which is more $$. so I think its worth although your right in the sense that after playing for 3 hrs you make .2c kinda stinks.
