So I'm playing on ACR as some of you likely know by my posts already. I was just wondering if it's safe to withdraw funds or even play at all. Has anyone from the states taken money out of a poker site recently? Also, if you are, I assume you need to keep records of it to file for taxes? Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

You're from the states? Does your state make you take taxes out of your winnings? Just curious if it's possible to make cash in the states online and it not being a problem with the government ect.

Since Illinois has no regulated online poker rooms (like NJ, NV, DE) then poker rooms will never withhold taxes.

Does that mean that if I withdrew 5,000 from a poker site that I wouldn't have to file taxes on it? Like taxes for a regular working job.

Technically you have to file taxes on any money you make in the US. I haven't had any problems cashing checks from bovada it's awkward at the bank but they always clear.

Checks are good.

I've gotten checks this year and they were good.

Pay taxes? Are you kidding me?

I imagine you'd have to make more than 10k before the IRS would care. Probably more than that but who knows..

Unless your cashing out large amounts of money multiple times in a year I wouldnt even worry about a few checks here and there.
