playing for runner runner

Playing 8/16 and 10/20 and getting beat so often by runner runner. Am I missing something cause i thought it was a 23/1 to shot, so why r so many players going for it and beating me?
Can it be the site ignition that has something to do with it? really got me crazy

Variance is the reason poker can be profitable. If you won every time you were supposed to the game would die quickly. There would be no fun players.
