I've been trying to find a decent place to play online for money and for a few weeks i've been playing at Absolute Poker. Someone pointed out to me yesterday that it was rigged and he was right 90% of the time. The person with the best hand raising before the flop got the cards they needed 80% of the time. So, is there any good place to play online without getting cheated?

I would appreciate other sites.. And no I played at Absolute Poker all the time, it wasn't until yesterday that this was shown to me and he looked like he knew what he was talking about. I played with this guy for about an hour and he would say what he had and what the flop would be and he got it 80% of the time..

For example one hand he had a 4 and a 6 and he said I guarantee i'll get a straight or three of a kind and he raised the pot with what most think to be a crap hand, and sure enough the flop was two 4's.

Something about that just doesn't add up to me, but I could be wrong.. I even tried playing that style when I was the chip leader and won 100,000 chips in 10 minutes on there so I don't know what to believe.

This guy must have made quite a bit of money then from Absolute if he knows what's going to happen and when 80% of the time?

Nope it was only for play chips and it wasn't 100% accurate, just a very good odds. That's the thing, I don't know anything about it and i've never played online for money so maybe I should rephrase this to where do you guys play online for money?

If anyone could predict the cards 80% of the time they would'nt be messing around with play money. They would be living in a mansion on a private island somewhere. And they sure would'nt share is with some stranger at a table.

Hmmmm, I think I would rethink this theory if you think a 4 and a 6 is the best hand.

There is no place for you to play - if you think Absolute it rigged then you will think they are all rigged.

LOL do you really think that Negreanu knows what everyone is holding all the time, because alot of the soundbites from him on any given show are him saying....you must have a K8??

Yet another online poker is rigged thread. Ok lets go through this again. I'll go slow for all those who can't keep up:

Online.......... Poker.........Isn't..........Rigged..........

If you are gonna believe some BS some dude at a play money table told you, you probably don't have the mental capability to play poker properly anyway so give up now while you are ahead. (And buy some velcro sneakers those knots are pretty tough).

In an attempt of defense, I know of people who use the RNG and do pretty well with the flops. I absolutely hate this method and avoid the sites they use it on. But unfortunately those bastards do pretty well and at times seems like they are predicting the flop. I recently tried moving up in stakes as well as trying a new site to avoid people sucking out on me. Both seem to do me well so far. Try checking out cigarclubpoker.com jwest. It is an online casino and sports betting, but also has a pretty good poker that I like to crush while I'm there

I guess I should have been more clear.. If I wanted a bunch of assholes to post useless crap, I should have said so. All I asked was where to play online.. I do not know that Absolute Poker is rigged, but I do know if you're the pot leader and raise on about any hand before the flop, you'll ALMOST always get the cards you need to make a winning hand.

No personal offense intended - we just get these "poker is rigged" threads all the time and it gets frustrating because we all know poker is not rigged.

Try pokerstars or FT - but keep in mind bad beats are part of playing poker and will happen everywhere.

Well the only reason I even asked was because i'm interested in playing for money. Why? Because i'm better than average and I see people do stupid stuff all the time. I thought it might be a good way to make some extra money or even a substantial income, but I do not want to get cheated out of my money. That's all I implied.

Fair enough. You won't get cheated out of your money - but you do need to be prepared to lose initially while you get accustomed to playing for real money. Start with very low limits and be prepared for all types of players. You will have good players on your table, players who chase anything and players who don't understand poker. They will hit with bad hands. You just have to learn to beat them overall and long term. And you won't always be successful - even if you are a great player.

Good luck! Read some of the strategy and hand analysis threads - you will find some great advice in there.

Let us know how you do. If you are uncertain if you are playing hands correctly post them here and ask for advice.
