PPL I have played ther and also live in IL so it is possible to play there however it is not one of my favorite places to play. If you are looking for a relatively small room to play try a site called FullRush Poker it is US friendly very easy to use and has some nice games to get you started on a new site allowing you to build a bankroll.

I play there - mostly because I stay connected best at their site for some reason. They have some good $ freerolls.

What I don't like about their site is that most of their tournies for $ are rebuy/add-ons and I'm too tight w/ my $, lol.

In the beginning of the FR's it's very loose play...but it seems to get alittle better when the field narrows some.

I don't live in IL - but in another poker unfriendly state!

I like Players Only better than the other sites I've tried on the Cake Network. I play micro/low limits and I like their rewards system better than any site I've played on. You can easily get 100 points per week on their Monday Night Football .05/.10 cash tables which gets you into a $12,500 freeroll each Sunday with a field of about 300 or so. If you're rolled to play higher limits, then you can be in after one session. 500 points in a month gets you into a $50,000 freeroll with a small field too. It's pretty sweet for micro players like me.

They also have the standard Gold Chips and Gold Cards that other Cake Network sites have, but they send out alot of free chips every now and then. They gave 100 chips out a couple months ago. The chips can be used in SnGs where all you have to do is make 5th out of 10 players and get $5. These SnGs cost 11 chips, but there are bigger ones that payout more money for making top 5.

I just recently remembered Players Only. They have some great free rolls, and a ton of qualifies that are worth while. US friendly, and unless the gov't defines illegal gambling, there isn't much the gov't can do to stop you from playing.
