Hey

Iv gone broke with my bankroll and was wondering if anyone has played for play money on Fulltilt?
There is a game for 500.000 play chips but its a $40 freeroll !
Has anybody ever bothered building there play money and do you think its a good way to try and build a bankroll back up?
Or am I better to stick to the regular freerolls?:)

Thankyou

Regular freerolls, only way those would be worth the time is if you already had millions of play chips and was easy/fast to win more entries. If you're starting from scratch to gain one entry...

I second that. Unless you're multi-tabling the piss out of it you'll never build up the necessary dough to make it back into RM play.
Freerolls are tough though. It might be weeks before you win a penny.

I have a good bankroll there, but very occasionally I play the Omaha HL for play chips just for fun or practice. The 250 or 500 (?) chips ones are total donkfests, so not even worth the time for practice. Where do you find the $40 freeroll? I've never seen that there. How many people are in it? If it's 2700, not worth the bother unless it's strictly for fun. You can reload the play chips all the time. I think it's somethink like 1000 every few hours, but I could be wrong. Anyway, I've built up some play money, but would never fathom building a real bankroll from it.

Freeroll

The freeroll is under play money tournaments and runs once a day.I have found that at Omaha h/l is a donkfest but if u wait for good hands you can win 10-30k.I would think that it's easy winning since the tournament only gets around 40 or so players with 18 paid i believe.its running tommorrow at 20:40 Tilt time i.d(110459191) hope it helps. However getting the 500k play chips may pose a problem, once again goodluck.

i've played in the 40 buck freeroll several times and cash each time. It is very easy money. The hard part is getting that 500,000 chips but if you have patience its not very hard at all

Never really bothered with the play money route cuz it seemed like a waste of time and FTP has such a large amount of freerolls throughout the day.

Yes its in the play money on the highest price tournaments you can play.
Last night I saw it and there was only 55 people with 18th getting $2.
Not bad realy !

one strategy to increase your play money is to register for multi table tournies that take awhile to fill ... using all your chips then ask for a 1000 refill and then unregister from tournies or sngs...you can only do this every 15 minutes?

not a big help but better to start with 3-4-5000 than 1000

Duh. Sorry, I missed that. It's not in the main lisying as a $40. You have to open the lobby to see that part.

The freeroll is under play money tournaments and runs once a day. I have found that at Omaha h/l is a donkfest but if u wait for good hands you can win 10-30k. Thanks much, I just found it. I play the Omaha HL too, and the biggest tourneys there are for 10,000 chips. At any rate, I play them (VERY sparingly) just for fun and practice. And while the lowest buy-ins are horrible donkfests, worse than a freeroll, the 2500 & 10,000 chip buy-ins are much better. These are people that have at least won a game or 2.

But NLHE is not my best game, and really don't enjoy it, so no interest in grinding away at O8 for a million chips just to blow it on a chance at $2 in a game I dislike. lol

Very first freeroll I played, cashed in for the first 2 nights. I used up all my play money chips here about 3M. I usually just play other games that I don't know how to play with play money chips now like Omaha and Razz.

The 10k 90 player play chip tourneys pay out well, if you could win 2 of those a day, you would have enough for the 500k buy in
good luck

this is the long route to building up a bankroll form nothing.
i just get my hands on as many passwords for private freerolls as i can find, there is a lot of good money in those. its so hard passing all the donks in the play chips scene, if you can do it, extra credit you ye, it takes so much patience and time. i just find the exclusive private freerolls to be the easiest way to build up a BR.

If u don’t wanna deposit, ur better off playing the playchip tables and going for the 500k playchip freeroll at full tilt and skipping the freerolls. Id say skip the freerolls because of the payout structure and time to cash in em. I mean it was a lil better with the old top 27 and just 2700 ppl max, but now its just stupid. Its what top 45 out of 7500? What is that? im awful with math, top 1% or less cash? Lolol awful. And it takes 4-6hrs to reach the money.

u gotta play for hrs and avoid the suckouts and bs along the way. No no no, save the playchips and get to like 20m in playchips and go play in the 500k. the payout is top 18 out of usually 70-80 ppl usually and it lasts 2hr-2 1/2hrs to make the money. After u get ur money (or don’t), with a nice playchip bankroll u can easily go to lo stakes playchip table without risking ur entire roll and make the 500k back quick. I would spend my 2-3hrs every few nights playing the 500k then spend like 30mins getting my entry back afterward or the next day or whatever and thats it. The hardest part is gonna be getting the playchip bankroll and that depends on ur level of skill and how much time u can afford trying to get em.

I got into an argument with some1 ive been playing for awhile online and it motivated me to start playing the playchip tables. I told em I could earn as many playchips that he had in his account in 5yrs by the end of this month. I had only 398k in the account on Wednesday, im up to 8.6m today. And im a mediocre player at best.

On a side note, since u say ur a cash game player id recommend, (if ur comfortable playing sngs) id say get some full tilt points and play the 650point sng to the 2500 full tilt point $750k saty. top 2 gain entry to the 2500pt $750k saty and the 3rd spot gets 850pts. that’s a faster way to build a bankroll than playchips though. If u don’t have a lot of full tilt points I think u can get 5k full tilt points in the academy by doing some simple tasks in the academy without risking ur bankroll. I mean u could go to microlims and without risking a few bucks get the tasks done.

So id suggest build the playchips, use em for the 500k, get a few bucks, go into the full tilt academy and checkout what challenges are easy for u and get the full tilt points then go play the 650pt sng to 750 guarantee saty. Hang on now, it’s the 2500 full tilt point saty u gain entry in if u win the 650 pt sng-so its not an instant payday. The saty’s payout is good and u get the 216$ buyin if u cash. That will build ur bankroll faster than the playchip stuff. Or u could continue playing the 650 pt sng and make a ftp point bankroll and use em in the store for tourn tickets or whatever.

ooh yeah, becareful with ur bankroll management skills. its easy to say "yeah its just playchips" or "yeah its just $50", the next time u know ur broke and gotta do the same thing allll over again, so care a little and im sure the dread of playchip and microlim tables will go really fast. Hope I helped.

Been awhile since I've played in them... they used to get only 30-35 people a night. I noticed it the other day was up near 70ish.

I cashed and won it a couple of times back when I was learning the game. Built some of my starter bankroll on them.

Still have about 3-4 mil in play chips but I haven't looked at them in a good while :)

Try finding some private freerolls at full tilt. Thats how I ALWAYS build up my bankroll on there without depositing. You can find private freerolls that only get up to a few hundred players. However, the private freerolls usually max out a 900/1800 players.

Yes, I have played it. Mostly cause I felt I was too tilted to want to play anything seriously.
Its really easy to get top 18, and win 2$. The structure is really flat, so no point playing to win that one.
The times I have played them I just more or less folded everything. Just waiting for those crazy maniacs to knock themselves out. And then, when only the really tight players are left, make an occational blinds steal.

I agree with divebitch that omaha h/l is a really easy game to build your playmoney bankroll in.
The players at all levels in that game, 3k/6k included, are really weak and clueless.

I've tried grinding the play chips before on Full Tilt and I think my experience would help you.

First of all, STARTING a play chip BR is not as easy as everyone makes them out to be. It's grueling getting over the 100K hump without following proper BR management.

"Well, follow proper BR management"
Sure you won't go broke, but let's be honest, you're always going to put 5% of your BR at a PLAY MONEY cash table just to get donked out sooner or later? Then there's the time... It hurts to think about the hours you put in for play chips. Also with the reload option, I doubt many would have the discipline.Bottom line is it's not easy(not hard), but you're going to have to spend a good amount of time in the process.

So after you have about 100K, that's when time really doesn't hurt as much because you're going to be making a decent return in chips if you're mass muti-tabling. This is where you're play chip BR starts climbing at a good rate.

So now you have a couple million in play chips. What do you do with it?

"I'll enter that 500k freeroll!"
NO! Here are my top 3 reasons:

1. The pay out structure is horrible. Basically it's first place for like $5 and everyone one else for $3 and $2.

2. Frustrating and time consuming.

3. The buy-in for this tournament is not worth it.

The third reason is the most important. With the 500k buy-in, there are better uses for it. I would recommend selling a million play chips for the current market price of about $5. The time and risk of the tournament is not simply worth the 1st place prize of $5. If it was a top percentile most paid structure, it would be a different story, but best thing to do in this situation is sell it to a reputable play chip buying site.

The only freeroll you should be playing is the CardsChat freeroll. Everything else is complete trash.

Well this is the advice I can offer you. I wish you luck in your endeavors.

That is how i got started again after going broke. I have done a couple threads on this tournament. I have built up my play bankroll to 15 mil, and would consistanly play that tourny and built up a 20 dollar bankroll. Then from there i didnt need to play those tournys anymore.

I agree with the others who have said that the private freerolls are the way to go. Especially with the current structure of the regular freerolls.
