Hello,
I'm thinking about making a deposit to PKR. I got an account there but I didn't showed up on the site for quite a long time. Now I'm considering to make a shift, leave pokerstars, and give smaller site a shot(you know, smaller fields, not as many regulars, and so no). I'm not sure though. Does anyone have some experiences from PKR? Their software is really unique but I'm rather concerned about it. Is it possible to effectively multi-table there? I'm really uncertain.
They keep sending me e-mails with interesting promotinal offers which are often really good. They're trying really hard to get players back. So I guess I should take advantage of one of those promotions and give it a try.. At least it'll be a small change, and life is change. :)

If you play cash games 10nl or below, forget about it, the rake is a whopping 10%. SNG rake is pretty high as well compared to other sites. If you play mtts I think it's an OK option due to the small fishy fields but there isn't a massive player pool so nothing like as many mtts running as the main sites. Think they have a 'lite' (not 3D) version now which is better for multi tabling up to about 9 tables. Hope that helps

I have played at pkr for a while, multitabling is anoying even when you turn off all the 3d crap or play on lite version. Cards are quite small and it distracted me a lot even with 4 color suit, you might think that im blind as bat but no, i play stars and ftp on smallest possible window. As MM said rake is frustratingly large, 2 split pots and you lost half of your buyin, i have abandoned cash game there but ill keep playing the 500 points mtt, 300 bucks prize pool. Traffic on 6max tables is ok but not even close to stars and ftp, full ring tables at 2 and 4 nl sometimes dont run at all sometimes only one of each is active

Bottom line i would never trade stars or ftp in favor of pkr, maybe move to titan or 888 is what you should look for instead

I totally agree with previous comments, PKR is nice to see and play if you are a complete novice player, but nothing for the somewhat more experienced players (more than 1 table and really trying to win some money). I would bet on another horse….

I agree with drazafft, and wont to add that pkr is nice to see but not for a long period of time because it become boring,
i played mtts there and i dont like their extended time for late registration, game is boring too and i think that PKR is not for player who is trying to win serious money, i would recommend other room...

OK, thank you for your insights and warrings guys. Now I'm definitely gonna rethink my intention.
I didn't have any idea that rake on cg is too damn high there. Eventhough I primarily play tourneys, the fact itself that they have such a cg rake is very uninviting.
And I'm afraid I wouldn't get used to the software as well. I've tried to multi-table and it was quite uncomfortable. Too many needless things everywhere and game flows very slowly compared to other sites .
On the other hand, it's quite impressive, when you play just one table, and totally different from any other site so I left it installed on my computer, as a good distraction from time to time.
So I guess my search goes on. I'm seeking for a less known site with smaller traffic. Any thoughts?

Why do you want less traffic?

Why do you want less traffic?

Because I like MTTs with smaller fields and I also prefer to always register first into HUSNG, which is often impossible on low stakes due to way too high traffic in these games on Stars.

PKR is probably the worst possible option.

Hi, I signed up to respond to this question. I totally disagree with the notion of PKR being the worst site out there to choose from. The only thing I would say is that essentially you lose the benefit of playing online poker because it's more like playing at the speed of a live game. The rake is also about the same as in many casinos.

I'm a USA player but am quite familiar with PKR and know others who play there.

It is certainly not for the hard-core multi-tabler and all that. But if you want to put a small bankroll on it and have some fun playing 1 table or even to relieve some tilt for a small amount of money, this is certainly the place to do that.

Another fact is that because of the 3D graphics, PKR attracts a LOT of fish, donks, etc and that alone makes it worth playing. In terms of the ease of the playing field, it's certainly one of softest. Hence the serious players above me saying not to go there either so not to take their action or because they're serious and don't play on PKR, this is exactly what I mean about serious players not being common on the site. They have basically confirmed this with their responses lol.

PKR Drama

Im a member of PKR for 7 yrs. The biggest rip off is they rig the tables. Its like leading a man to a 16oz steak and when he gets there they allow him to have a bite or two then when he gets all excited they take the steak away.
The site is the best for the graphics love it but their customer service sucks and there is way too many people who harass others. They flash their rules and ban people for telling someone the cheat and allow players who swear and stalk. They spend too much time advertising and trying to bring in new players and ignore the ones who make them moolah. Over the years they have changed the site but never changed the hidden observers. When I joined there was over 10,000 people on in a given night now they are 1500. They also have promotions to depositors and put a time limit on it fooling people into thinking they will make penny for penny it expires before you you get cash from them. Read fine print.

Go for Titan Poker, their customer service and withdrawals time frame is good. Moderate traffic and very fishy network
