So last fall I use to play at pitbull poker and had a pretty good bankroll on there. Then come to find out it was a scam site. Which sucks balls because i thought i was gonna cash out big. Then the site got shut down and havent heard a thing about it.

Has anyone else played pitbull poker and run into the same problem. Was pretty curious how many players were affected on here.

I got scammed once on a spades site, apparently I should have bothered to google before playing there. lost $100 of my real money, the winnings were 10x that but only virtual it seems lol.

Oh yeah, in case anyone somehow wants to try, spadester.com = scam

I don't think that it can qualify as a scam site. I personally cashed out $200 from the site and a friend of mine cashed out $500. It was more like a site with very poor management.

Pit Bull's been gone for a while now. Some nights there were less than 100 people on all the tables - not a good sign.

I know some CCr's that cashed out at PitBull. I donlt think it was a scam site- just a crappy site in general.

If you still had money at the site they should have contacted you prior to the close.

Do a google search and u will find out it was indeed a scam site.
1. The had servral cases of phantom pot( pots beeing shiped wrong way/ pots not beeing right size).
2. They had suspected super users.
3. The owners emptied out the offices in the middle of the night and didnt even inform the staff and took all the players money.

Here is a article written by one of CC´s finest

The website was not a scam, the owner committed acts of fraud near the end of the website. Kinda like how Enron was a legitimate business but Jeff Skilling and Ken lay committed fraud. There were in fact good people at Pitbull, many tried to stop this all from happening.

I think some of you have a totally different definition for scam than others/the dictionary.

I can only speak of myself, but for me if they took the players' winnings when they shut down, then it was a scam.

Of course some players did cash out, it only means it wasn't the dumbest scam ever.

Every non-retarded ponzi scheme in known history has started by paying off the people that invest early the x times their investment they promised, then when it gets too big to afford to pay everyone, the founder simply runs away with the money.

Now, this was not a ponzi scheme obv, but the same principle applies. If they wouldn't give people the first say 100 people their money they wouldn't get 1000 more to deposit, duh! If you were to run a scam, would you rather make $2,000 or $50,000 out of it? (making those numbers up, but you know what I mean)

This actually makes is one of the best scams because they paid a few people, who then told their friends they got paid, who told other people it was safe to play there and when they had the amount of money they wanted to run with they ran.

IMO a scam site is something like a phishing site. A site which sole purpose is to scam you. I don't think the purpose of pitbull was to take peoples money until the end.
A minor disagreement really, the point is the owners tried to scam a lot of people. Horrible plan though, are they in jail now?

That's pretty standard as far as scamming goes, actually. Do you think all scammers are retarded? Alot are, alot are very, very smart.

The best scams are the ones where a clean looking smart guy convinces people to invest millions into their scheme, in a couple of well known cases even billions! This is small change by comparison...

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the original plan of the owners was to populate it a bit then run away with the money.

To answer the jail question, they couldn't be found up till now, and nobody got any money back - players, employees, sponsors etc.

The tournaments were a pretty good value added $$ since there were only a small amt of players on site, I pulled fair amt $ from site but forgot to cash out near the end & left around 350$ there!!!!!!!!! It would be nice to find another small site with similar tourneys.

This thing written by spadesters makes it sound kinda fishy the way they are defending it and repeating themselves over and over

They did very little background checks into who got their no deposit bonus(it works on sites where you can only get it once due to successful background checks) Either way it just fell apart very quickly.

Pit Bull stole my winning long before the final problem. PB has always been a scam site. I got scammed early to avoid the rush.

If regulated means taxable, I doubt you want that. Who do you think would pay for the extra costs? The players of course, it would mean more rake I am sure.

Also it's impossible to regulate it, the sites would just keep being off shore, and the ones that would agree to being regulated wouldn't be competitive compared to the others

+1

Also, don't play on smallish sites. There's no way small rooms can really succeed in the poker market now unless they have a ridiculous amount of money behind them for marketing, so putting money on them is always a disaster waiting to happen. Stick to the big sites like PS and FTP and be happy.
