I've just registered with PartyPoker.com after getting a free $50 from a site and I have to say from what I've seen and played against so far that it's full of fish. Ok, so I'm only playing lower stakes but even so, I thought the ability would be a lot higher than it is. Muppets calling with any old cards in the tourney I'm in right now, ok, so its a freeroll, but on my 9 seater table I have 19124 chips, and everyone else has less than 2500, and I havent even done much to earn it, certainly no expert play. Does anyone play the $6 SnG single tables, as I prefer to play them and wonder what the play is like on them? I'd like to build up this free bankroll into something decent to cash out if I can?

I think people might back me on this

no matter what site you play on if your playing low stakes you will find NOTHING but fish, you just got to learn to beat them

sure, I agree, but I play low limit on about 15 different sites(or I have at one time) and I've never seen the fish count like it is at partypoker

I like the $6.00 SnGs on Party. I'm ITM 63% this month on them, so I guess I should! I find there are always at least 3 players on a 10 player table that are pretty weak, so if you play your cards right and dont get into anything too crazy then you can find yourself in the money pretty regularly.

I don't know how you can tell the different levels of fishiness on poker sites judging by freerolls. The play in freerolls is terrible everywhere I've ever played.

I heard the Muppets are having their own freeroll on party poker. Winner gets a date with Miss Piggy.

Full of fish?

The only bad part about so many fish is that sometimes they drag you down at the river. Since you are new to Party my advice is at those low limits avoid trouble hands like AK,AQ, AJ. I often would rather have 67 suited than AK. Good luck to you or as they say in Costa Rica buena suerte.

You should move up to the $10+1 - better "juice" for you (a 20% juice is ridiculous), and the players aren't any better

$6 sngs, are unbearable i've played in like 3 total twice I got eliminated with aces and once with ak against kq (first hand). The people are just god awful and play all in poker with no reguard to postflop play.

Playing NLHE at party really got me uninterested in hold'em as a whole online wise atleast (I need to look at a person to play NLHE) and I took up stud h/l where the experienced player has a much bigger edge over the passive - play every hand that looks pretty - kind of player.

Half or more of the people dont turn up to freerolls. Half of those remaining couldnt care enough, Half of those who do care are looking to build a stack early or die early, and half of those who dont die early, dont really know what they are doing.

Conclusion :]- It is easy to make the money. But is it really worth the investment in time?

If you like the low limit games (.50/1, 1/2, 2/4) check out Lee Jones' "Winning low limit holdem" as it has done wonders for my game. It's very basic concepts like positional play, hand rankings, and odds which can boost your profits as it preaches tight and aggressive play. You'll make the fish pay dearly to beat you and know when to get rid of a bad hand.

I'm slightly confused now. What percentange is left in the tournament after all these halves get knocked out? ;)

ummmm...about 6.25% ;) So if the pay structure is 10% then getting to the money is got to be a near certainty ;) :)

Right, sod the $22's, see you in the freeroLL!

I play in the $20 and $10 SnGs at Absolute, and lately I've found that the play in the $20s is often worse. The last 3 I've played, there was one huge chip leader that was a complete donk who continually got rewarded for chasing without odds, calling large raises with A-rag, etc. I don't know how to explain it really, bizarre and annoying.

Isn't absolute owned by party?

Theres more fish at Party Poker than in an over stocked fish market :D

But as usual fishy players = fishy plays and its this element that does my head in - chasing to the river, calling with 'carp' :D and swearing at you when you bust their 72os with AA :p

Beware however their cashier & bonus area - the odd bonus goes missing and therefore i dont play there

I've never had any issues with Party/Empire bonuses - these bonuses are pretty much the easiest and quickest bonuses to clear on the Net.

OK party poker's cash games may be full of fish. I have to disagree with the S&G games because I have found them to be the most competitive anywhere, especially the $6 buyin. They are tighter than a virgin when its down to 5-7 players. I was proud of myself for making 3rd this morning and breaking the curse. Otherwise I'm playing at poker.com where there is very loose and easy action, the way I like it. ;-)
