I asked them on Twitter and they said it was a planned downtime that was announced. I also contacted support through email and they just apologized and said it was a routine maintenance.
What I am pissed about is that when I opened the software there was no indication that this routine maintenance was going to take place. I was not fortunate enough to read the Twitter announcement by PartyPoker where they claim to have announced the downtime. I would like to see this kind of warning in the software lobby, just as PokerStars
does (and perhaps many other poker rooms as well). I'd really like to see PartyPoker making some improvements on this matter.
Anyway, it was just a freeroll and I didn't lose any investment, although I did miss a clear chance of qualifying for the target event.
