Party Poker and the Alias reset

Hi everybody, is it everything ok?
What do you think the iniciative of the Party Poker about the reset All Alias? Positive? Negative? Why?

You have to look at the whole thing in connection. To me an alias change is silly and dumb but also kind of whatever. The real big issue is, that players will no longer be able to download their hand histories from the site. To me personally that is a show stopper and mean, I will not be playing at Party. See other threads about the subject.

Personnally, the alias reset makes no difference at all to me.

I am unhappy, because I chose the nickname that I like, now i need to change it again. But the worst thing is that, the hud disappears. For me, this is a big minus, and considering that the tables are becoming anonymous, I have no reason to play in this room. At first they spoiled up the sng, Now they have taken up the "cache". It's probably time to change the room. Time will tell what will happen next, in the next few months I will not play in this room.

They say the reason for this is that there is no more information on both HUD and sharkscope, totally favoring the insertion of the recreational ones, but man, so when I entered for example to play recreationally, I did not see as disadvantage people use any tools that theoretically gave them advantages, I saw as something to look for in order for me to achieve evolution. Online poker is not the same as poker live, as they want to paint, the losers will continue to lose because they make the wrong decisions and that is what makes them lose, not the HUD I use.

They say, they want to "protect" recreational players. But recreational players typically play very low stakes. And nobody spend time and money looking up 100`s of potential opponents in SharkScope before playing a 5$ online tournament.

It's interesting. What most poker sites adamantly disallow, PartyPoker is initiating site wide. I'm looking forward to it simply because I would like to get the same alias there that I use elsewhere. I might event start playing at PartyPoker again.

I think that the sharks will have a hay day with this. Nobody will know who they are. And without hand histories they'll be able to hide behind anonymity for a long time against the recreational players.

True! Players lose money because they make the wrong decisions.If someone overestimates the strength of the hands, then nothing will save him except training. Programs have nothing to do with it.

The poker rooms do not understand that the fish left, not because the field became stronger, but because promotions and freerolls were lost, with the help of which it would be possible to build your bankroll. In the golden times of poker, players were more, just because there were suitable conditions for the game. Now there are almost no freerolls, or rather, there are none at all. I do not understand what level of skill people have who are responsible for attracting players to online poker have, these �marketing professionals� are doing everything to ensure that online poker ceases to exist. In order to attract new poker players, poker rooms need to spend more freerolls and promotions, and not a refusal to have "hud" and old nicknames. I am very disappointed with the new changes.

Unlike other innovations I'm personally not concerned at all about alias change. It's always been available on Party (okay, there was a period when it was not) and I had changed my nickname many times.

This time it's an obligatory change but still this fact doesn't bother me or make that much of a difference. Of course it will cause some inconvenience, especially if you've been a long time reg in certain games but no one will change their game just as easy as they will change their nicknames. I do not see anything wrong with this. Usually, any changes occur for the sake of development and progress. I hope the software will be upgraded without problems.

My Brother and I used to play Party Poker Way back and when he used to live with me I had already set up the Name "Inequitas" and had been using it a while before he moved in...

When he saw how much fun there was to be had he'd use my account while i was at work... I ended up creating a new account "Damitwhy" to indicated the frustration i was feeling at the time that my brother wasn't going to stop using my Alias "Inequitas" lol

I'm going to use the Alias change to get my original user name back... Looking at his stats I see he hasn't won any thing much in the last few years but when he was playing "Head to head" games
he was doing quite well...

But Just In Case someone else admired that name and gets in first... I've made a list of Latin names which work equally as well...

Bringer of light, the light within,into the light, out of the darkness lol the list goes on and on...

They have long wanted to remove the ability to use third-party software, the only thing that at the moment do not like it is that the country was removed, before for me it added information to the game.

It is a mess to all regular players, who are using a HUD.
And it is a slap into all players faces about being able to review the HH and to
analyse this and doing reports about collusion, bots or insults etc.

The change in Alias also has zero benefits for players like me from small player pool countries. Example I show up at a Cardschat game my flag will totally give me away.

However changing Alias does not really bother me, it will not effect anyone other than the higher ups especially cash game players. I am neither.

What has been the issue with new changes is the removal of being able to download Hand Histories. It diminishes the integrity of the game and opens up possibilities to all kinds of cheating. It also removes reviewing your session makes learning and improving your game very difficult.

I agree overall, but there are no more flags in the lobby (kinda funny they have dismissed something they implemented not that long ago Party Poker and the Alias reset

). And at the tables you can't see the players' countries anymore.

I just considered strange why there is no more information about the country of the player... They had started recently to include the flag of the player�s country in the chip count and now neither when you click over the player in the table you can get the country information that Always appeared before...

This was something that they did not explained and I do not know the reason... What do you think?

i withdraw my monies from that place - are many other better places to play poker for us that want learn & study (examine hands see how i messed up lol)

I guess, its a further attempt to make table selection more difficult, so that winning become more difficult. In the micros in particular players from high income countries tend to be mostly recreational, while players from low income countries are often professional or semi-professional grinders.

So if I saw, that there was only players from low income countries at the table, this might be reason enough for me to leave, before the blinds even came around to me. Without this information I am forced to remain seated and play at least a few orbits, before I can determine, if there are any �fish� at the table. And then the poker site has already earned more rake. Which is frankly, what these changes are all about.
