I only play freerolls so can only really comment about those.

partypoker was the first site I joined, way back. Then they had a reasonable number of freerolls that were at times I liked to play and where you got cash if you reached ITM. Now they give tickets which I do not like. If I grind away for 3 or 4 hours only to find my reward is to grind for another 3 or 4 before I actually get any cash (assuming I have enough luck), I am more than a little disappointed.

A lot of other sites do this too so it is not just PP.

I also preferred the old software to the new one. I find the sudden pop-ups for their 'achievements' annoying. I know I just won a hand with 77. I just bleeping well played it! I don't need a silly screen to tell me.

They also used to deduct from your bankroll if you didn't play there for a while, although I'm not sure if they still do that.

Maybe other members will have a more positive view.

The new software is a huge improvement, The gameplay is fine, only issue I have had is when you cash out they take a big chunk, bigger than most poker sites, so by all means play at your own risk

I don't think that Party Poker charges a fee for withdrawals. Are you referring to the U.S. Dollar / Canadian Dollar exchange rate that is applied to withdrawals?

Party Poker's exchange rate is similar to the retail rate that you would find if you were to sell U.S. Dollars at a Canadian bank. pokerstars exchange rates are, indeed, better and seem to more closely match the wholesale U.S. Dollar / Canadian Dollar exchange rate.

I really can't speak to the exchange rate used at other sites.

Ya man I cashed out 135 and was charged a $10 bank fee, which was fine then when I checked my statement they had transferred me $103 so they took over $32 when it was all said and done.

Which withdrawal method did you use?

If your transferring right into your bank account... use the Electronic Transfer, it's free for Canadians.

I've done 2 withdrawals in the last 2 month's, both were free.

Bank Wire costs $10.00 to use.

I think there are plenty of better rooms to play than PP. Old PP was only good, but it was way better than the new PP. The software is worse and the promotions are awful (playing the same amount of time at the same stakes in others room, you can win much more things than playing on PP). I can't say if the cashier changed something because it has a while that I don't cashed out there.

Is that true that you can't play freerolls without depositing?

Yes it is true, at least it was for the old software, you need to activate real money account and you do that by depositing

That doesn't sound like good tactic to increase number of players. I wouldn't deposit to the site that I didn't have chance to try out in real money games.

Unfortunately I'm already registered :) doesn't matter I'm playing at too many poker clients anyway lol. I've also read on bankrollmob about no deposit option - that even when you've already created an account you can use their offer if you're inactive for three months and never played for real money on your account..... So maybe I'll come back to PP later.

I'm getting increasingly fed up with the lagginess of PP. It can take 10 minutes just to log-in and then a couple of minutes to switch from tab to tab or refresh a list. I'm thinking of cashing out and putting the money into PokerStars.

I can't even get the downloaded client to work, it doesn't log me in gives me a message to contact support which I have done various times and their best suggestion was to reboot my modem and computer and try again. In the old software I got an error message that basically made it seem like my ip was blocked as if i was in a region not alowed on the site, however the new one just says contact them.

Yet I am able to go online and run the play without download option, but it only works half the time. Sometimes it loads up fine, other times it says my java is out of date (yet I updated just recently and actually found it worked better just after doing this, have to poke around my browser add-ins yet and might be able to fix that issue).

I hear ya on the laggyness of it, their tab view of the lobby is horrible. If you switched to the other it should run much better but then it is harder to find what your looking for if it can be found at all.
