Hey guys,
Have you already noticed how usual it's for several players having pairs at the same time?
I don't know the odds of that but when that always happens when i'm playing.

Well, it's fairly simple to solve. You will very rarely see a player's cards at showdown unless they have at least a pair - as much as a high card is statistically the most likely outcome, it is not more likely than all of the other possible permutations combined (we say it has a "plurality" rather than a "majority"). If somebody goes to showdown, they probably have at least a pair.

The chances of being dealt a pocket pair is about 1/11. I once got dealt 4 pocket pairs out of my first 6 hands at a tournament. If you consider that 9 people play at a table, each with a 1/11 chance of getting a pair, there will actually be a pair dealt to a table most rounds: over 80% of the time.

considering the fact that the odds are 1:11 (I've read 1:16 recently) to get dealt a pair, 9 hands are dealt in a round.. it happens also a lot in live games...

However, if you're talking about things like : getting kings and anoter getting aces or you have queens and you're called by jacks and aces, UTG has the aces is and limped them, then well I knew I wasn't going crazy!! I saw and was victim of those for about a week now... it's probably just a coincidence... for the pocket pairs I may say... for UTG, it's a question of knowing how to play poker...

but, gain, I saw this (not often) happening in some live games.. the pairs and the limper..

But... That's poker Phil! :D

Kk vs AA

I had kings 3 times out of 22 hands in a live game and 2/3 ran into aces

Lucky I flopped a set twice and raked the big pot but the first time 2 8 j ran off the flop and I avoided a disaster by talking myself into. The guy having j8 suited after I got 3 bet all in
