Do you want to hear about a bad beat?
I'll spin you a little story! Picture it -The CC FR @ 15.30-
I was doing good, and got a good hand, Kh Jh.
The flop came up, Qc, 10h, 8s. I was excited, I was on a straight draw!
I raise, one player calls.
The turn is Ah. I got my straight!! I push all-in, and he calls.
The river comes up 3h. I still have my Ace high straight, I can't wait until I double my stack!
Here's the showdown, and I lose. I am beat by an Ace high flush. At first, I can't believe it, then I let some choice expletives fly. I hate bad beats!

I wouldn't say that was a bad beat Jessie, just a beat by a better hand. Seems you do the same as me, as soon as we hit our great hand, we forget to check if there is a better hand there which someone else might have. I do it a lot with a fullhouse, where I have the lower 3 of a kind.

If you read it correctly, Jessie lost to a flush that was only made on the river... it wasn't a really bad beat, but unless most of the chips were already in the pot, the odds wouldn't really have supported calling for just the draw, so Jessie did get the last of her chips in as a solid favourite, and lost, and the call was (depending on pot sizes, and bet size) possibly a rather loose call.

yep, but you have to get used to the loose calls now, too many people do it, without worrying about the odds.

Not only did you get your flush but you got your King high flush as well. A straight and the second highest possible hand (King High Flush) and lost? Sounds like a bad beat to me.

correct me if im wrong Jess, but does that not also give you the best possible flush other than a staight flush.

You have k j of hearts, on the flop there is a ten of hearts, the turn brings you ace of hearts and on the river is a 3 of hearts!!!!!!!

So what exactly did she lose to? I figure there must be a typo in there somewhere.
