Ok, I live in Vegas and my family lives in KC so I travel back and forth alot but its pretty much impossible to compare what happens in the poker rooms in vegas with much anywhere else so here's what I'm wondering...

I went to play in a tourney this morning in KC, and its just a little one, 50 dollar buyin, but the last time I played in it they had 4 tables and that used to be the norm. So yea, it got cancelled, only 7 people showed, and the room manager says its usually like that now, lucky if they get 3 tables.

So are other's seeing this accross the country? Do you think that the economy actually is having an effect or are people losing interest?

Err, KC ?

What is that ?

Remember this is a worldwide community, m8. Your locality is the other side of the planet for some of us. We need a tourist guide.

I'm also in Nevada, 60 miles east of Reno. We have 3 tourneys a week, 2 have stayed about the same and the one on Sunday has actually gone up a little bit.

I can see though where some non-gaming areas would be hit be reduced bankrolls for poker. gambling is great most of the time, but not when it's the meal or mortgage money going on the table.

KC = Kansas City (either Kansas or Missouri, twin cities thing)

im in cincinnati and the casino closest to me has never had trouble with this. the two further away have trouble filling even a small tourney most nights though. i think it has to do with population density than anything else

In Australia, poker is taking off big time. Several organisations are linking up with pubs and clubs and there are freerolls and tournaments being held across the major cities every day and night of the week.

The amount of poker freerolls have really grown at the bars in Indianapolis as well.Even the tournaments at the riverboats around here seem to have a lot of players.Haven't noticed a shortage anywhere come to think of it.
