None that I know of around Orlando, but Tampa/St. Pete is only an hour or so away and there are several there. My wife has played around Tampa, I've only played at Ebro outside Panama City.

Whatever games you find in Florida (whether ring or tourney) will be limited to max legal buy-in of $100.

Just wanted to correct this. He is right about ring games. In florida they are currently limited to a $100 max buy in. Limit games are held to no bet higher than $4. Limit games are stuck at 1/2 and 2/4. No limit games do not have a limit to the amount bet other than the $100 buy in. They regularly run 1/2, 2/5 and even 5/10 nl, all with $100 buy ins.

The above post is wrong about tournys. Tournaments can range anything up to $1,000 buy in.

There may be a card room around there. I am in south florida and am not familiar with Orlando. To my knowledge they don't have an actual casino in the area, but they might have a dog track that has a card room. Try google searching something like "orlando card room" or "orlando poker". Might get lucky.

My mistake then, I assumed the $100 buy-in applied to tourney's too, as I hadn't yet run across one >$100.

The US poker Directory link I posted above shows zero cardrooms around Orlando, and the directory seems to be regularly updated (and allows anybody to submit new locations), so I doubt there is one yet. It shows 4-5 in the Tampa/St.Pete/Sarasota area, and another 3 on the opposite coast between Daytona and Titusville (looks a bit closer to Orlando too).

I live in orlando now, and yes Tampa is the place to go, I personally like Ft. Lauderdale's Hard Rock better, but Tampa's Hard Rock is closer...bout an hour away, poker room is very easy...you will love it, go there around 2 am when all the drunkards are playing and you should clean house...or get sick beats...one or the other haha...good luck man, also theres a good medium/high stakes ring in Orlando, my neighbors friend organizes it if your interested in 250/500/2k max games.

I'm gonna have to check that out sometime. I'm about 45 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale, but there is a dog track 10 minutes from my house in West Palm Beach that has tournaments every day that I'm going to check out soon.

If you go, please post pics of those 'dogs' playing the tournaments. Are they called dogaments there? ... ;)

How do you bet on which dog will win the tourney and are there higher odds for 'underdogs' ... :D ??? If they haven't heard of Cardschat there yet, you might be able to introduce yourself is da BIG dog ...

Pompano or the Kennel club? Iv heard good things about both. Supposedly the 5/10 at the kennel is an action game.

The HR in Lauderdale is good on the weekends. Worth the trip. I'm a 2/5 regular there. The current laws suck right now, but it looks like they might be changing by next year.

In my experience it's no worse than any other cardroom, at least at the one track I've played at several times. Ebro, outside Panama City, is literally a spot in the road, and the track itself is kind of run-down, but their poker room is very nice, clean, even upscale. It's upstairs and closed off from the track itself so when they have races you can hardly tell. Lots of regulars and tourists, and I've never seen a drunk get out of hand although I'm sure that can happen anywhere you have drunks.

I play at the palm beach kennel club. Alot of players and nice setup. Alot of terrible players too that call raises pre-flop with 75c or q9os, etc... that crack AA, KK LOL

Were you drunk when you made this comment?

If your talking about a taxi, anyone can get a taxi driver, plus just tell him the address by googling it and he will drive you their without issue.

A lot of times they may already even know where Hard Rock Casino is.. I think now in days they can look it up on a device in the taxi.

I live in Clermont, FL, still haven't had the chance to go to Tampa, but hopefully I'll be going in a few weeks. :D

I lived in Orlando for 6 years - I'm in San Diego now - but if your looking to get into a ring game - they do have them - but you have to get to the coast and take the casino boats. Call ahead to make sure b/c not all of them have poker - I know Sun Cruise did - and they had many different levels there.
