My only Option Betonline?

I am an US Player that lives in Maryland. I've done research and most of the websites that allow US players, don't allow the state of Maryland. It seems my only option is Betonline. Does anyone know why Maryland is banned and is there any of players from maryland using any other site? Would just like alternatives to look into. Everytime I see a site that allows US players I try to register just to get shut down when I pick Maryland as my state.

I play BetOnline and it's the only site I can play on being located in NC. The site is decent but it's no ACR or poker stars
