Hello everyone! My name is Jake and I am 19 years old. I live in the United States in Arizona. I have always been interested in poker and would really like to get involved with playing a little bit online, just for fun in my spare time. The only problem is, as I am sure you all are aware, is that it seems poker is illegal in most states here in the US. What I am here to ask is whether or not there are any possible options for me to play online as a 19 year old in Arizona? Or do I simply need to wait until Arizona legalizes it (and most likely sets the age at 21)? If so, what are the most recommended rooms? I'm looking for somewhere that I can easily deposit and withdraw money, a good AI, and texas hold em tournaments and cash games. Do rooms like that exist, and what are their payment options?

Please do not waste time signing up for new sites like these bolded above, you are only asking for heartache. If you are in Arizona your best bets for online poker play are (1) Bovada; (2) Americas Cardroom/Black Chip Poker/True Poker (all belong to Winners Poker Network). Both of these options also include a sports book and casino, and Bovada includes a horse race book. (Note: HEM2 HUD should be up and running soon for Winners Poker Network, player tracking currently functional)

A third option is Carbon Poker, but currently they are experiencing payment delays to players averaging 2 1/2 months although they may get back to 6 week payouts soon.

A fourth option is Lock Poker/juicy stakes (Revolution Network) but they are currently embroiled in tremendous publicity concerning 6 month payouts to US players as well as unacceptable delayed payouts to International Players. Many people strongly believe they may be insolvent.

I will second Bovada as a #1 choice and # America's card room. Btw whereabouts in Arizona do you live?

I think this analysis is fair enough except the Carbon withdrawal terms. My experience shows that all payouts requests were processed in 4-6 weeks. This room deserves to be on the second place.

Anyway all the rooms mentioned are good to start with (except Lock of course). Just register and choose which is the most comfortable for you.

I recommend you the rooms of the Winning Poker Network (BCP, ACR and True), they are known for fast cash outs and i had no problems so far with them. Player money transfers are also possible there.

Well, just to be straightforward you are wrong. At the current time they are 2 1/2 months for everybody surveyed. It is supposed to be a temporary thing, but nothing Carbon has stated lately has been true (ie when they switched to Carbon Sports the time frame was supposed to get under 6 weeks - it is has only gotten longer). They may get the time back down but you can only go on current facts, and the elimination of P2P Transfers makes it even worse as you can not get your money off from any legal method. Besides Lock, the 2nd most heard rumor is Merge/Carbon is insolvent. They do not have as many indicators as Lock, but they have some to be honest.

I have seen no changes in Bovada. I don't withdraw (or deposit) so I am not sure if they are current. I think they are

No, you weren't. The legal LIVE gambling age is 21. Whether or not this applies to online gambling? I'm not really sure on that one being that almost all of the servers that United States players play on are in other countries.

To post to this thread though, I would fully recommend the three main poker sites that I play on. Those are Bovada, Black Chip Poker, and Carbon.
