online pros

just curious, how many out here are online pros? how often do you go on tilt. i wish i could do what you guys are doing. if i were to consider it, how much of a bankroll would you suggest starting out at. also, what was your longest losing session in terms of days. i talked to a pro and he said its difficult, he says hes gone over a week losing.

Good Q. I guess would depend on definition of "pro"....if you define it has "major source of income is from poker", without other jobs or income, I would think the number is not as high as the number that SAY they are "pro".

In USA there are for tax purposes things you have to do to declare yourself a "pro", but I'm not up on all of them.

Would be interesting to hear from other countries here what being considered a "pro" requires....

You dont need to know that.Just to be one of them is a difficult but not unreachable thing.Work hard to be a pro one day.

Here's how I classify an online Pro. I go to Official Poker Rankings and look at a players 2009 stats and if they net over $100K for the year I tag them as a Pro. Couple of examples gboro780 and son-in-law but there are lots more. What I find most interesting though is how many live pros rarely cash big in online tourneys or how the latest FTOPS main event 2.5 million guarnatee NLHE tourney on Full Tilt featured all newbies at the final table and I counted only 2 grinders. I classify a grinder as someone who plays alot of tourneys (roughly 1000+ a year) and has a low ROI and profit below 50K example :creep: Max The OG. So for the newbies that cashed big at the main event I would now classify them as Pros because they have the roll to prove it.
