My favourite online poker room was the ongame network. They had the best sit&go tournaments and cash game tables. In 2007 the softwares were better than nowadays. The Ipoker, microgaming, 888, partypoker had better poker sofware in 2007 than now in 2018.

I remember those guys/gals sitting around the table back then! My brother played there once.

In 2007, I was transitioning from pokerstars to SportBetting. I liked the software at PS over SB. IMO, I think the software has only improved. The graphics for the table may have changed, but that is just an aesthetic look & feel.

I prefer the table graphics to be simple, without any distractions. Here is how I pimped out my ACR settings:

  • Background #3
  • Deck #1 with 4-color option
  • Card Back # 6 (need to download first)
  • Avatars set to Disabled
The default settings for tables at ACR are less than desirable, or optimal. I had a problem seeing at a glance who was still in the hand. Card backs were dark and blended in with the background. And the avatars! Yuk, you would have two aliens, two sharks, a fish .... just another distraction.

Well, if you search for the best layout and most user friendly software, there is no way around Pokerstars and FullTilt (same network) in my opinion. But it has also a downside. The player pool is/was a lot tougher to beat (especially on the lower limits) compared to other sites/networks like ipoker for example. The software, traffic, big gtds in tournaments attracts a lot of experienced players. Arguably you could say it also attracts a lot of weaker funplayers but in my opinion the "pro/fish" relation is better on any other network!
I think it was and still is really worth playing on other sites at least when it comes to cashgame

So my personal rating:
software: Pokerstars>FullTilt> AmericanCardsRoom>Rest :D
Playerpool: every network>Pokerstars/FullTilt

regards

Thanks for the settings; they definitely look “pimped out”. I’ll be using these setting for sure! Completely agree ACR makes it difficult to see which players are “in/out”. This looks a lot more clearer.

Yes,I agree about the iPoker's software which was much better before.I don't know why they had to change something that worked well and looked better.
