Hello, I'm new to the forum obviously. I've read some of your threads and found them very interesting. I have a few questions, I was hoping a few could answer. Feel free to answer just one or all...I'm sure some will prefer none. No hard feelings...thanx.

1. Is it possible to make money from micro-limit sit-n-go tables without a lot of luck since anyone will call anything? Sit-n-go's seem to be a better bet than free rolls to make any money at.

2. What's the best company to play sit-n-go's, freerolls, a place a person with little to no bankroll can actually make money.

3. I've been reading in some threads of people starting and making money from the ground up. Can you do this with no deposit (I'm sure you can)...but where? Who'll let you?

i've had a fair amount of success playing the micro NL tables at pokerstars and fulltilt, but it's generally a losing proposition to play micro limit tables in my expirence, though at least you won't lose much.

you might want to check out partypoker, as they're running several $500 freerolls a day still, i think, if you're looking to build up a bankroll for scratch

and if, as your name suggests, you want to make the wsop, Fulltilt seems to be offering the most free seats this year, for no investment

I am currently trying to build a bankroll from nothing. One of the sites I've been playing freerolls at is Party. I had built up a little bit of money but have just gone broke there playing a ring game. While it was somewhat easy to make a few pennies in their freerolls, it is hard to turn those pennies into dollars because they don't have .02/.04 and .05/.10 tables and minimum buyin is $5 at any table. I am going to continue to play the freerolls and take any future winnings into their $1 tournament and see if I can build up a small bankroll that way before playing the SnGs or rings. Long odds to get anything going at Party.

If you haven't downloaded Paradise yet, download them and do not deposit. They "use to" deposit $2 into your account after 3 days (something they don't advertise). The have micro limit tables and the site is full of fish. I have a friend that has been playing there for over a year now on the original $2.

Cardschat also has freerolls wednesday at Titan with 200 player max. This a good way to start a bankroll there if you can win.

I built my roll up mainly from the Stars $1 45 player SNGs back in the good old days - highly recommended.

I left myself with a whopping $1.05 on poker stars and have built it up to over $20 in the last two weeks by just playing the 1c/2c PLO8 and 1c/2c NL tables. Patience and no bluffing will make you bankroll increase slow and steady at those levels.

Best place for SnG's as far as the number and variety is Poker Stars but it is hard to get free money out of them; they don't do alot of freerolls.

if you can deposit; then make a min. deposit at pokerstars and hit up the micro limit tables or the SnGs (yes its very possible to build a bankroll at SnGs)
if you're looking to build a bankroll from freeroll winnings, try ipoker (titan, cdpoker, noble etc.) or really any other with freerolls running

With something like the Noble Poker survey offer, you can get a $5 starting stake, and try building that up. They've got $1 Sit-n-Go's, and the 6-player Omaha Limit H/L tournaments on there have really bad play, and the $0.02/$0.04 Omaha H/L ring games are no better... and the PLO8 games don't seem to have that great play either, so you could build up your bankroll using any of those (my free bankroll on there is currently up to about $25 from playing a mix of those). If you're looking to build a bankroll up from nothing, then that's probably a reasonable place to start.

Another option is playing on one of the Prima sites like 32red. It's mostly HoldEm on there (with a little PLO8 action), but there are a few $1,000 freerolls every day. Some have over 10,000 players, but others have under 3,000, and 260 places are paid (paying $1.50 upwards), so it's another place you can get a starting bankroll.

The Micro limit games tend to have very loose players. They can be very straightforwardly profitable, although (at least on the holdem games) you'll see plenty of bad beats and have larger swings. You generally need to play a tight, solid game.

My impression so far is that the short-handed micro-limit games require slightly different strategies from those advocated in most 'pro' books, though, because the style of play prevalent on there is different. Bluffs will rarely work in the Limit games, so you'll want to play solid hands post-flop, although when play is only aggressive post-flop and most players see the flop, then speculative hands like suited connectors become more worth playing. In No Limit games, see if you can spot one person stealing most pots by raising, who plays any cards, and then you'll have a good target - try to play heads up against them (possibly easier when short-handed), and you'll generally have the better hole cards, and will have the better odds most of the time. If they push whatever you do, then you can get all your chips in when you're confident you're ahead, and if they fold when you play back at them you can steal off the stealer, or call their bets to keep them putting their chips in.
