This is a discussion on Online Poker? within the online poker forums, in the Poker Rooms section; Hi I'm new to online poker and i was just wondering what you think of online poker?
And if you do play online at which site(s)
Online poker, at least at the big sites - Party Poker, Poker Stars, Ultimate Bet, etc. I have deposited and withdrawn from PS, and I have never had any problems.
The reason you get "much" better hands is because you are getting usually around a hand a minute, whereas if you play live, usually you are dealt a hand every 2 minutes or so.
I trust the MAJOR online poker sites, if they were screwing people, I don't think that tens of thousands of people would play there.

re: Poker & Online Poker?
I do enjoy online poker, because you can scream with joy, or kick your computer without anyone seeing your emotions, also that can be a disadvantage because you can't read the players. I usually play at Party poker because there are so many fishes to feed on ^^

stay with the larger sites and you should be ok. I would say the bigger risk isn't so much the site itself not being trustworthy, but the risk of collusion between players. You have no way of knowing whether 2 or more players are sharing hands over a cellphone in an effort to team up.

I have had no problems with Ultimatebet.com . They are fast on processing. I've received both checks and withdrawals to my Neteller account in a timely fashion. Also primapoker.com has been fast with sending checks. You may find that they require a fax or scan emailed, of identification and or charge card if that is how you funded, for your security.

Definitely stay with the larger more established sites. If you get the urge to play at a poker site that no one has heard of before, there's a good chance that it won't work out.
Look for sites that have 24/7 toll free customer support. It sounds basic, but several online poker sites will only provide an email. If you have a problem, it's good to know you can actually talk to someone about it. Also, look for sites that are members of IGC or eCOGRA, these are credible industry organizations that have taken the task upon themselves to help regulate the industry.
Some sites you can feel safe with include, PartyPoker, PokerStars, FullTilt Poker, UltimateBet, PokerRoom.
