I tend to check the certifications for the RNG for the sites (specifically mentioning the actual
poker games (not casino poker) these days before playing on a site a lot. While I don't think sites are rigged to give certain players certain cards and I even joke sometimes about action flops for rake; it really isn't in the best interest profit wise for a site to "rig" the cards. Even if it generates "more rake" because either way the site makes rake so why risk your entire business model for a few extra bucks an hour.
Do they use different RNGs? Sure. Are some RNGs more advanced than others. Absolutely. Can a lot of these crazy miracle runner runners and one outers happen at a live
poker game? Yep.
Find a site you feel comfortable with and play there. Sometimes seeing so many more hands per hour you feel like it's rigged but it's not. I'd be more worried about super users but that's rare and a whole other issue or colluding.
And some will complain about bots, and while I don't think they should be permitted, they are beatable as they don't know the cards to come, they are programmed to make the most +EV move each hand. Fair? That's questionable. But people already use HUDs and other computer aids to play.
Bots and colluding are rightfully frowned upon because they hurt the spirit of the game but bots are probably the lesser of the two evils while super users are the rigging you might see...not in the RNG but in the company or user.
And getting off my soapbox...no it's not rigged. Bad beats happen. Brutal beats happen. Find a site you're comfortable on, put in volume, and make sure you're playing solid poker.
Also this thread should be in the Rigged Mega thread lol.
