Can you explain to me, a non-US player, how you are able to play real money games on sites like Lock? I thought there was a full ban. Are they basically breaking the law?

On the other side, I cannot wait until you USA players can play again. The tables are far too tough without you. :) :)

The US Dept of Justice has no jurisdiction over the online poker sites, so the individual sites get to choose whether or not to accept US players.

The sites that have banned US players did so because they don't want to have to deal with the hoops that need to be jumped through to get payouts to US players. There is, however, nothing illegal about it.

All the randomization algorithms are pretty much the same, so if you're a truly a winning player then you should be able to win at any online site. It's possible that you have just been lucky at Lock, or that you've just been unlucky at ACR/BP. Just because you were a winning player pre-Black Friday, though, doesn't mean that you have the skills to be a wining player now. It has gotten much tougher to be a long-term winner since then.

Good decision not to play on Lock, though. There's no point until they address the cashout issues.

Good luck.

what about reviewing your hand history and comparing it to your other winnings? It could just be variance- I have not had the greatest run lately in tourneys, but thats across all sites- however there was a week a couple months ago where I ran hot-

are you playing cash games or tourneys?

I'm not a huge fan of the anonymous status on Bovada, BUT will say that they have some of the best variety of MTTs (and prizepools) available to us US players.

I want my Stars back though ... WHINE :(

It is not illegal to play online poker, it is only illegal for banks to transfer money to a gambling site. So those of us who had money in the site before black friday can continue to play with that money. To deposit is a bit harder, but can be done with Western Union or other innovative ways the site can come up with.
