OMG! First tourney win!

Sweaty palms, racing pulse... I just finished first in a $500 guaranteed freezeout tournament at Poker.com and won $150!!!

This feeling is the best.

This is by far my biggest win since taking up poker a few months ago. I've won larger amounts of money in things like radio call-in contests, but I feel like I really earned this one. This win totally validates all the time and effort I've put into getting better at the game. I feel I played well and am so VERY excited to have it pay off!

There were 168 players -- it was a $2 buyin tournament with a guaranteed prize pool (nice overlay, I might add).

Sorry not to reply sooner. I had to go to sleep. Had a hard time doing that, though.

Thanks for the support, everyone! I'm still excited this morning. Now if I could just repeat this performance in live tourneys....

Live is online, but much more intense. Imagine having to control all that emotion and physical reactivity from showing while still paying attention to the game. Its a rush. Congrats on the win.

I thought about that last night when I got to heads-up in the tourney. It's a bit of a luxury to be able to grimace when getting bad cards online or go nuts with excitement... bad habits I need to shake before playing live again!
