I played this for the first time last night, it was actually an accident, I rushed trying to get in a game b4 it filled up, I when I started playing a got four cards lol, I was like WTF.

But yeah, what a great game, I really enjoyed it so much and I will defo be looking for more Omaha games in the future. Before that mistake I would never even dream of playing it but by a mistake I have found a great game. It was a 10 ppl s&g, I did not win but I did ok, and really enjoyed my self.:)

That's funny... I've seens lots of people come into Omaha SNGs and basically say, "Oh crap, I thought this was hold 'em!" It is a good game, though. Omaha high/low is even better.

If you havent played before I would recomend geting the pokerplayersbible at a bookstore before you venture into the game. Omaha is a crazy game with lots of swings of chips. Even worse H/L. I love the game but it will cost you alot to learn.

Omaha is a kick to play. It's best pot limit, but seems the better players are there (in the upper limits). In the micro-limits there are a lot of really bad players, much more so than in NL. Good place to learn - and earn!

Omaha H/L won't necessarily cost you a lot of money to learn. I lost about $50 playing small stakes HoldEm, and then switched to Omaha H/L, and immediately started making a profit, and on average have continued to do so regularly. Having learnt patience and basic strategy before playing for real money, I don't think it should be expensive to learn Omaha H/L, and the swings are less than Holdem if you play a solid game (fewer bad beats). You do have to pay attention to starting hand selection and odds of hitting outs, though, and you do need to understand common holes (such as drawing to a 2nd-best hand, or chasing for only half of the pot).
