Yesterday I logged into my email account and noticed an email from Nlop saying that I have free entry into one of the $500 games on the site.

I decided to play and happen to win the tournament. For those ( like me ) who have never played there, I will give a little info about the site. The games are very top heavy. Which I am not complaining about but I thought it to be relevant information.

The $500 gntd I played in top payouts were as followed:

1. $200
2. $100
3. $50
4. $25
5. $15

Min cash was 26th for $3

You can play on the site for free, winning and earning tokens that you use to buy in for real money games. You can also pay a monthly / daily / weekly subscription for set amount of coins and other benefits. The site makes its money from adds. Paid subscriptions remove those adds for you.

So when I won this tournament two things shocked me a little.

First

The fast payout. I had my cashout within minutes.

Second

I did not get paid my full $200. They kept 30% of my winnings for "tax" and also charged a fee for processing. I end up getting $137.25 out of that $200.

US players do not have to pay the tax.

Anyone else find this odd ? What has your experience been like with Nlop ?

RentMoney is my name there.

I wouldn't play there, paying tax on winnings is just plain wrong to me, we don't pay tax on winnings here.

There are plenty of other sites that don't do it, I'd rather play at those sites.

Tax is weird

In what country do you live ? The only thing that makes sense to me is that you reside in the same country in which their business is based, and therefore have to pay taxes, like when you buy something online in the US and the seller resides in your home state.

Thank you for the info, too, I hadn`t even heard of that site, I`m registering right now. :D

I thought the same. It isn't a true freeroll. The cost of the game was 1000 of the sites tokens in which you earn in various ways.

Watching ads , playing on the site , daily log in bonus ect.

I however did play for free as I been a member of the site for years with 0 activity. This prompted them to send me an invite for free to a $500 / 1000 point buy in and a $1000 / 1000 point buy in game.
The $1000 game starts in about an hour.

All I'm reading is free money?

It was free for me and its hard to complain but it sure sucked reading that I wouldn't be getting over $60 of my $200 winnings.

I never knew about the non american tax, sounds weird.

My thoughts exactly.

There is, I never knew about the 30 % tax before playing. Plus I was invited to play at no cost. I would be a little more pissed if I put the time in to gain 1000 points just to have 30 % + of my winnings taking from me.

Every Country outside of the U.S. has to pay the 30 % tax.

For those of you that don't know, Nlop was purchased by the Cafrino Network a little while back. They have a similar model except there are no subscriptions you can buy. Cafrino is also only open to US players.

I played there and won a tournament for $20. I never bothered cashing it out. I came back a few months later and my balance was zero. Turns out any money won and not cashed out after 90 days is taken back. I was kinda bummed, so beware of that as well.

This is a very weird structure. It is free to play so that is nice but because of that withdrawal, I probably wont be playing there any time.

I thought it was odd to but if given another ticket for free then why not play.
