interesting actually. At first glance it would seem since all the other players would mostly be playing loose the optimum strategy would be to play tight. But knocking out a player is so huge in this because not only have you added to your chip stack and collected the bounty money, but you now have a bigger stack which you can use to knock others out. If you sit back and wait for a hand, when you finally do get one you'll most likely be outchipped and not get a bounty. Of course depending on the prize scale it could be good strategy to play it like a normal tournament, ignore the bounties, and work on getting the most money. The fact that it's a bounty would mean that your POV of ignoring bounties that players would be playing incorrectly against you. What would make it even more interesting is if we could assume other players actually took the time to examine the game theory behind it and use optimum strategy instead of "omg I has an A and if I win the hand I get half my buy-in, I'm arrin". But since we all know most players don't think it through much, we can almost guarantee that they will adjust TOO much and play too many
hands too aggressively. So I still think that the optimum strategy would be to sit back and play normal poker, although that would change if you were playing against good solid players.
