Hey Everyone,

Starting your bankroll at a poker site could be difficult specially if you don't know what games to play or how to go about it...

if you play at FULL TILT POKER

Here is a little guide and tips on where to go and what to play to get started:

Every Day at 21:05
there is a Freeroll for USA players
it pays the first 90 players, and the price pool is $250... 7,000 players play on that...
you got to register early for this... or it might be full if you get there too late...

Every Day @ 18:25
Freeroll Sat. to the Daily Dollar, it pays $1 to the first 200 players... and it's a super turbo tourney... also 7,000 players on there.
you got to register at around 17:45 to secure your spot at this tourney...

and also if you play the CardsChat Freeroll... they have a price pool of $200, and great pay out structure... you can jump start your bankroll and work your way up.

What you do with the money after you get it.... is protect it, with proper bankroll management techniques... so you don't go broke.

Good Luck at the Tables

the ferguson satellite fr, if you can start a tourney at 11pm est, isn't a bad option for maybe a little bit better odds than the daily dollar fr. they're both hyper turbos, but in the daily dollar one, you start with 300 chips. the one time i cashed it, and quickly tried to unreg from the daily dollar, the daily dollar started and i was immediately taken to my seat, haha, oh well...then i, of course bubbled out in the daily dollar, so that was fun.

the ferguson freeroll takes about 2 hrs, probably less. pays top 100...you start with 1500 chips, though it does pretty quickly (for me anyway) become all in or fold poker...so it is a luckbox but good practice for your shove game...cause you may very well get several chances. i have fun in it.

i am lazy, and probably should work on some play money sng's and work my way to a few million play chips because they do have those 500,000 play chip buy-in $40 (i think it is) freerolls, and it never looks like that many ppl play in them....probably the same guys every night, who knows, might not even be an easy tourney.

Academy Freeroll

is a Freeroll that you play after you do the Lesson Quizzes on the Full Tilt Academy page... if you pass the quiz ranking in the top 1,000 you qualify to play the Satellite freeroll for that quiz... once you play that if you land in the top 100... you win entry into a $5,000 freeroll that plays the next day...

I have played in the $5,000 freeroll... and it's really hard to make the money, because you have some really good players on there... I mean they took the lessons and read some of the notes... they don't play like donkeys...

Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to check those games out. I like playing, but am loathe to make deposits at these sites at this point. Maybe, when I'm winning consistently.

there is a Freeroll for USA players

Thanks for the info! It's not always easy for us USA players to get money deposited these days. Last year, not only did neteller send me a check and close my account, but my local bank that I used to transfer to and from Neteller closed my bank account as well! I hope this all gets turned around soon.

Thanks again. Playing such a large field freeroll can be a real pain, but maybe I'll give it a try. Then again maybe I'll just stick with the CC freerolls. I played a couple last year and they were quite fun! :)

I have the most fun in the CC freerolls and most CC events.. I'd recommend those.

And the Satellite to the Ferguson is fun and not that difficult to grab a buck, since the Top 100 get the dollar.

The freerolls that register at 09:40 ($100) and 10:40 ($100 tornament dollars) have done well for me. The tournament dollar one seems easier to cash in, it's a turbo an will actually get done sooner than the one that starts an hour earlier.

That sounds like a good freeroll. Is this available on FTP as well? Are there any restrictions? How many usually play and how far do you have to make it to be ITM?

Thanks a lot for the info!

Those freerolls are 2700 max and always fill up with 27 getting paid. it is a tough road to haul but if you make it ITM you get $2.00 min. instead of pennies. Gl

OK, cool. Thanks a lot! Yeah, $2 min would make it worth it. A lot of people in those tournaments go all-in on the first hand anyhow, so it starts to work down fairly quickly. And then the grind. :)

Thanks again!

i've found in the 2700 max freerolls...its wild till the blinds hit around 200. where you'll be way less than 1000 ppl left at that point so i just play it tight. the problem/good thing (depending on what happens with your coin flip) when its all in time is you'll always have a caller with the deep stacked survivors of the chaos early on who will continue to fish until they're knocked out. i've seen ppl sitting on 50thou in chips when the bb is 200-300 get knocked out in a matter of 2 or 3 hands...actually all the time, its common. i usually try to play my hands while i'm stacked to, but with all the guys who'll call with any two cards...i've found AK/AQ/KK/QQ are all a curse in the first couple levels of the game, but that never stops me from being willing to go all the way to 0 with them...since it is a freeroll. when it is shove time for your stack and the blinds, you'll be shocked to see the cards that will call you...i mean, you will laugh...even if you lose. you also run into the "well, he went all-in, and everyone folded...i'm the last to act with my J3o...hmm, guess its up to me, i better call him" syndrome. which is the majority of hands you will run into when it is shove time. so you can double up later on and start to play again...unless its the daily dollar sat, ferguson sat, or the turbo tourney dollar tournament...you're still in point and shoot mode for a good while

I used to play free rolls furiously but I noticed it affected my live play.

Due to tactics that work there that dont necissarily work against physical people.

you also run into the "well, he went all-in, and everyone folded...i'm the last to act with my J3o...hmm, guess its up to me, i better call him" syndrome.

I hate that syndrome! But I've seen it many times. I guess I should like it because against that, you're going to win more times than not. But if you lose, it really hurts. And even when you win, you don't feel like you've improved your actual game any since no one does that in a "real" tourney. You just have to be aware of what's going on so you don't mess up your live game play.

Thanks for the heads up. It has been a while since I've played, so I forget about all these little things going on. Also, after some number of hours, there are those players who didn't plan on playing that long, so they just start going all-in because it's time for them to leave. When they've got a lot of chips, that can be tricky. Tricky because I never fully trust that person that says, "Oh, I've got to go." And then after they knock out four more people they say, "Oh, I guess I can hang around a little longer."

Thanks again!

Very nice, I would like to also add that on FTP the $100 Freeroll RAZZ is fairly easy to win if you play tight. It takes time just like other freeroll but its limit so there isnt any all-in in the beginning.
