Congratulations!

You're a winner of the
Regular tournament "Fast Freezeout" on 2008-07-12 13:00:00!

You came in
1 place. Congratulations!

I am pleased to inform you that you have won $ 2,72 ! Your winnings will now be placed in your
player account.

found this site barnyardpoker.com and they have 3 freerolls a day, i was able to start a bankroll there early with all the small fields, and have been growing ever since, the fields have been small making it rather easy to place a lot, hope this info helps anyone looking to get a bankroll started somewhere, goodluck and best cards to you all ;)

never heard of this site anywhere. It sounds like a microgaming one tho since the tourney was called fast freezeout. I wonder if you should try to cash out just to see if is legit.

I'll tell you something.
This is probably a fly by night operation, you'll think you have found a site loaded with fish, make a deposit, play a few hours and increase your BR, log off, go to sleep then you'll go to play and find a 404 error the next time you try to open poker room.
Just my opinion. Be very waryof new sites.
BTW, look what came up when I when I clicked thier security link.
DO NOT DEPOSIT, also uninstall software and run a virus scan ASAP

forum

Barnyardpoker is ran by a forum called pinkcow Im fairly sure.Anyway I get emails from them to play barnyard. Its new and I am very wary of the site.Since you have played there, what network is barnyard on?Congrats if you cashout tho...anyways I only play well known trusted sites myself.but i give some a chance, but Id never deposit at a new one until they establish credibility,so i wait about a year to see how it goes, and dgn, wingows, and all the other failures never got my money, except for a small amount i won in freerolls perhaps.

Well I just checked it out and got the same security warning. I'll wait for further feedback on this.

i havent met any recognizes pro's there, but there is some pretty tough competition, i havent been playing much there, and when i got up enough to cash out, i failed to stand up from the table, so i'm pretty much broke on all sites now, just a few pennies on a lot of them, but not enought to sit down or get into anything..:(

Errr, Amy, you realize his win was back in July, yes? :p The thread did actually cover some good ground about potential pitfalls of playing at a new site though. Did you manage to read over the rest of the thread?
:deal:

Since this particular poker site is apparently still running after 4 or 5 months and the OP claims successful withdrawal of funds, I think chances are high that it is fully legit...of course ddg373 could turn out to be their top shill  j/k

As intimated by others above, I would remain cautious nonetheless.

Lookee there - post #50 :D

I'll be honest. I'm a freeroll whore.
I have a boyfriend who plays poker too. We don't enter the same sit n go tourneys because we do have morals about cheating. I accidentally discovered one day that ftp notices IP addresses (looking for a ring game, I hadn't noticed him there), but i do share the passwords I can find, all but two.

I love cardschat and railbirds soo much that I made him join lol and he'll be waitin til he gets his fifty posts lol before he can play a cardschat tourney cuz I don't wanna get in trouble with you guys.

I'm not sure bout all this password sharing because the saturday tourney I was in only had 200-300 people in it and I'm used to railbirds being full. So to this noob, it doesn't look like its a huge problem to me.

To me, I think that the best way to limit it would be to have Cardschat manually distribute the winnings, the biggest problem with that being the minimum transfers being 5 bucks.

At the moment, I don't mind posting a bunch, but what about the holidays? I'm not home much. When I am i"m getting ready for the big ones and I would be pretty pissed to come back and not get any passwords for a month. I don't have a laptop to use either. What about those of us who can afford long vacations, and don't really want a computer with them? Not to mention that a daily post is kinda a lot to expect. That would mean a serious commitment to a poker forum for cryin out loud! I mean more serious than a 50 post rule. One a week isn't too bad, but there will still be holidays and vacations, which still will shaft loyal members who have zillions of posts and maybe arent' interested in the topic or don't have a lot to offer, maybe it's already been said?

Just some thoughts.

Good luck on the felt everyone!

I don't think, that somebody can make money from new pokerrooms. Play for $2,72??? There are too much freerolls at rooms like FT,pokerstars,I-poker sites, where you can play at good MTT,when you won money in freeroll.

I agree with most if not all of these thoughts BUT this is the wrong thread to be posting about it, is it not?

Oh well, let me semi-hijack this thread and add on :p maybe a mod will relocate these 2 posts to a more appropriate locale...

Railbirds is of course having the same issue w PW thieves and it is currently wide open as to what they will institute but anything like a post a week or per month would pretty much screw me on occasion. I suppose an ongoing yearly quota of maybe 10 to 20 posts (on top of the initial 50) would not be onerous (for me at least) and would still have the desired active "weeding" effect.

You mentioned laptop-free vacations -- that's me to a tee come mid-summer. And things tend to go in spurts, too. Sometimes the spurt can be a spurt of non-participation such as when non-virtual entities like a job  or a family :) require more of my time. With poker, I've been rather steady for past ~2-3 years and before that it was online & real life backgammon (poker put a serious hurt on the BG scene). Sometimes a run of crap luck can force you to stay away for a time, too.

In any case, to make a point, I think a set requirement (like 50 posts) serves well to weed out most lamers and if it come to a decision that there needs to be a new ongoing requirement to maintain "active" status, then I suggest a very modest quota over a multi-month timeframe.

I also wonder about participation in CC/RB $ tourneys. I get in on occasion; what does that count for? At some point, I think known "good apples" just need to be grandfathered in with permanent active status regardless of ongoing activity.

Time to SU&D :p
