I was playing poker on sportsbook this morning (merge network) and they have implemented a new rule. You can only have 4 tables in play at once max. This includes tournaments you are registered for. I talked with support and they only stated that this was a new rule to increase player satisfaction. I am disappointed because I cannot even pre-register for tournaments because they are counting toward my total table count. There is also a delay where I was unable to register after closing out all my tables. Anyone else frustrated by this change? I think this will push many of the grinders away since they are now limited to only 4 tables. Thoughts?

I'm assuming this is Merge-wide and not limited to Sportsbook? Because skins typically don't have independent control over the poker client.

If it's all of Merge, that definitely sucks. I largely quit playing Merge anyway but this would definitely prevent me from returning.

This is just limited to Sportsbook and Players Only. I am a midstakes reg on SB and find this change by management just absolutely ridiculous. This is going to accomplish two things. In the short term, a reduction of games will result, thus making SB less $ in rake. In the long term, regulars will greatly reduce in numbers, thus losing SB even more potential earnings. Another result of this change that I think management has overlooked is that recreational players rarely and I mean almost never start tables. If SB has all full tables, then the recreational player doesn't play. The 4 tables maximum effectively doesn't allow regulars to start new games which of course will result in less games and less rake for SB. I have called the SB hotline and let them be aware of my concerns. I urge others to do the same. Here is the phone number: 1800 372 0333. Ask to speak to the Poker Manager/Supervisor. If he/she is unavailable leave a message expressing your concerns.

I don't think the rule will stand for very long. Once the site realizes that the traffic is decreasing they will hopefully allow normal play again.
