I forgot to mention that what i find to be most interesting here is that if this law passes it seems that online sites will be created by casinos that exist in New Jersey. Like trump and ballys would be running these sites. I guess i am ok with that but I was also hoping to be able to choose FTP and pS to play at if I wanted to.

When i read things like this I am proud to be from NJ

Good for you kmixer. What exit?;) Perhaps this will be a catalyst for the feds to do something positive. :dontknow: Any chance that if this happens you'd see an increase in the population? And would that be a good thing by you?

I am too far from the parkway or turnpike to be an exit....lol

I think it should be a catalyst for the individual states to act on their own constitution and not wait for the federal government. I don;t think gambling should be regulated at all by the way but since it is this is a great step in the right direction. If states can have their own casino laws then the same should apply to online play in my opinion.

I don't think we will see an increase in the population. Things (taxes in general) are way too expensive here and people have moved away for that reason. I think the people that stay have good paying jobs and if they move they know they won;t get nearly what they make here.

What I think we will see happening is people using friends and family addresses in NJ to gain access to online play. I fully expect you to be calling me up ad asking if you can say you live with me in order to be able to get in on the rewards ;)

What do you mean just "say" I live with you? I've already started packing. :p Don't worry I'm a pretty good cook and do my own laundry;) Hadn't thought about the individual state thing, good point and agree.

Buck....yeah this is good news and I hope they follow through. Heck I would vote for any politician that made sure this gets through. It is good for the state and it is good for the law abiding citizen that just want to let off some steam or enjoy their hobby after a long day at work.

I wonder why the Native Americans are not trying to open buildings and put servers for online poker in them. Aren't they supposed to have carte blanche when it comes to this gambling stuff?

Like trump and ballys would be running these sites. I guess i am ok with that but I was also hoping to be able to choose FTP and pS to play at if I wanted to.

Seems to me that the ideal situation might be for each B&M casino to provide a 'skin' to some existing online site. If Stars and FTP act aggressively, they will willingly provide that capacity. I would sort of hate to be stuck at the existing 'skin' based networks.

However, when I first got into the game there was a nifty site, part of a network whose name I can not name, where I cashed out and began my online career. The Bike, named obviously to relate to the Bicycle Club, a world renowned casino just up the road from me. It was a skin to a network I can not name, and when I cashed out, the money actually came from another skin on that network.

It is gone now, along with that other skin, and maybe that whole network. But the idea that a 3rd party provide the software and facilities for the big name casinos seems like a good idea to me.

So we may see sites with names Like Bicycle Tilt, Commerce Stars or Hustler Merge........

Along with this more perfect version of the idea as a whole comes a little tidbit from my past. Long ago, in a galaxy far far away, when I would go to Vegas, or Tahoe and move between the casinos, the chips from one casino would be honored at another casino. I've heard that doesn't happen anymore but since it's been many a moon since I was in any of those places, I can not verify. But the point would be some Universal Currency that all the sites would accept, something like a US Dollar Backed Pay Pal or Netteller would suffice. With the ability, for those near a casino, to conduct deposits and withdrawals at the B&M casino. I can't see any casino objecting to this as it would mean a hot body is inside its doors, with money! I understand the existing Nevada (and others) casinos want to protect their turf, but I really think they are getting overly greedy.

Cheers to New Jersey for a forward looking idea.
