Comparatively this is a grand upgrade. Not quite as smooth as Stars or Tilt, but close. They are clearly serious about being a contender.

With a few option adjustments this works good. Most everything about the previous (yesterdays) version was piss poor. With this upgrade, DR's can now attract all players.

Clean table, re-sizable (up to full screen), reasonably fast action (internet mechanics).

Thumbs up.

Thanks DJ, I heard they were doing a massive update last night, but have not checked it out yet.
I have not logged into there in about 2 years, lol

They are clearly serious about being a contender.
Not that serious if still are in that "Acme" network.

I mean software could be buyed to Stars and still with 370 players 24hr/peak (pokerscout) there is no point to play there.

Cake software is really bad, but at least Doyles used to have 3 times more traffic (wich still was poor). Really not understand why Doyles decide to change to this ghost network, even Everleaf is 2 times bigger than this Yatahay network.

I thought about taking a look at this 'upgrade' on Doyles but tbh, I'm really disappointed with DoylesRoom for a bunch of reasons (& here's some of them, lol).
Prior to the switch to the 'new' network I had a bunch of problems with DoylesRoom disconnects while deep in MTT's & was never compensated for any of them (it was happening to 1/3 or more of the players on the tables I was on) - this included a $55 mtt turbo, the $27.50 bounty & a few others.
Once moved to the 'new' network I downloaded it onto a couple of my computers & played for an hr. on micro limits & found it so absurdly bad that I could hardly believe it was real. Then a few days later I reg'd. for some games & the f'n site kept bumping me off & I ended up losing all my buyins. I 'uninstalled' DoylesRoom after that & just figured > DoylesRoom RIP
I wonder if this new software upgrade by DoylesRoom will actually attract much of the US online poker market now? (I'm thinking probably not... but who knows?).
A couple other things I heard awhile back was that DoylesRoom wasn't honouring a bunch of the promo/prizes they had,.. 'and' they also left the CakeNetwork owing them a bunch of money (... possibly 100's of thousands?.. I'm pretty sure I heard that on the 2+2 Pokercast). All adds up to me personally not wanting anything to do with the site although my curiousity is sparked, thinking maybe I should donk off the bit of $'s I believe I still have on that site.

I should still have a few bucks on there as well. Haven't logged in in at least a year or more. Might be worth checking out on the weekend, if I find the time.

The look and feel is good, very good especially compared to yesterdays version, but even as a standalone in the crowd, it is good.

No trackers will be working for a while. Apparently there is a new HH format and it will take a while to adjust.

The table looks better than the Carbon table, and way way better than the bodog table. It isn't running quite as smoothly yet, but then have a nice platform to build on.

Charging up my other laptop now... you've sparked my interest enough to download it & donk off the rest of the roll that I think is still on there. (when did you take the job at Doylesroom ? ;) )

I'm up late trying to get a baby to sleep, and had to try it out. I fired up a play money table, and no shit got T2o first hand. I of course shipped it, and got call and beat by A5o. I for sure thought I had the nuts.

Play Money table pic;
DRPMtable

The straddle does what it should, but is a 1 hand thing. The chop is a b vs b thing and nullifies the hand (I guess), returning both blinds.

Gears in upper left = options. Chat is limited to characters that fit in that space, no long winded talk.

The History is HH replayer and I'm still working it out. There is an expanded chat window with options, one is a direct Live Support link.

This is a clean table, uncluttered and tho a bit different, they thought it out well. As stated it does full/wide screen nicely and it is a comfortable table to sit at.

Today it is running smoother than yesterday.

I should get a job there, at this point they need shills....... Total players is low, under 2K. I have no reason to think the real money tables look different.

On the cash tables, next to the gears (options) there is a $ -> € button. With no cash onsite I can't describe further.

LMAO!

That pic of the table looks pretty good DJ. Way better than last time I was there, I will check it out this weekend.

The table looks alot like they did prior to the 'move to Cake'.. I wish it worked as well as it did then.
10nl is the lowest for cash tables & $5 is the cheapest sng/stt
The last time I logged in to the 'new Doyles' I reg'd. for a bunch of SNG's $5 & $10 & then when games started up I kept getting booted off the site & was unable to play a single hand of any of the games (& wasn't compensated a penny). Looks like I still have enough for a few more on there so I might just have to give it a shot, lol.
I'll be looking for the Flopologist ;)

The tourney lobby is confusing to me, ie. watching a 'super turbo' sng right now & it appears to have 1500chipstacks & 6min blind levels?? And now with blinds at 30/60 they just had a 'break'. A break??? wtf is that? Breaks in early levels of a 'super turbo' STT/SNG? (it's a 6max sng & the break happened with 5 players remaining & blinds at 30/60).
Now I'm more confused

I did find a freeroll!
Not listed as a freeroll per se listed as a real money game $0 + $0. Starts soon.

Had to fill out the real money account info, but did not have to deposit anything.

Doyle has left the building: Reluctantly, I have decided to terminate my endorsement contract with Doylesroom.com. It pains me to leave at this time. I have aspirations of reentering the online poker business when the United States Government passes legislation, that officially legalize online poker sites. Doylesroom management has decided to continue to serve U.S. customers. Although they believe they have the right to market the name Doylesroom and to use my name and likeness for a period of time, I have asked them not to. Good luck-Shuffle up and deal. source:http://www.gambling911.com/poker/do...sroomcom-gambling911com-exclusive-051311.html

Very disappointing. And leaving me in bewilderment.

Here we have a pretty good poker software, still a little rough around the edges, but a very good foundation worthy of polishing up to be potentially great software on par with the Big 3. From a purely ergonomic POV, this software is worthy. Really think Doyle was in a very +EV situation. But, as always, poker is imperfectly saddled with incomplete information, and he must feel he knows something the rest of the world understands differently than how he understands it.

With no mention of Yatahay on the current site, I had entertained the notion that Doyle had finally taken control, and set him and his site up for a peachy opportunity.

Delusional I guess.

Which leaves a nice piece of software out on the market. I'm thinking Stars and Tilt will keep close control of their software, Cereus might dump their software to WPT. Leaves the Merge sites with software that has changed since Black Friday in a good way, and Bodog, which most all will agree leaves a lot to be desired software wise. Think Bodog could probably make a killing with this software. (Hint Hint!)

Agree, the lobby could use some work. But it is about like using the Tilt lobby vs the Stars lobby. Clarification would come with familiarity.

So, Doyle leaves Doyles a day after they release new software.
(cliff notes: Poker Orifice goes on to babble & reminisce about his past experiences on Doyles)
Can't say I know of many mainstream pokersites that seem to have made more poor business decisions than DoylesRoom. Back when they were on microgaming network & then did a decent upgrade to the software (early '08?) I thought it was great! I used to play on that site often (20nl tables & their 'raked hand required $500 freerolls', (Stud & NLHE freerolls, final-tabling some of the 'STUD' tourneys & was the only site I ever played them on & used to look forward to it. Actually built up a $700 roll on there from a $2 freeroll cash on NewYear'sDay '08).
I actually used to recommend DoylesRoom to friends who were just getting started playing online poker - - DoylesRoom had 10cent STT/SNG that had play on them comparable to the $2 games on FTP & far better than the $1's on Stars. It was an oppurtunity to get some experience on the cheap. Things sure went downhill from there.

I agree with PO about the circus of errors the mgmt of Doyles has made and seem to always be making, but i did play in a game their the first day of the new software and i like 1000% better then that other Yatahay crap they had and this one was really good as far as i can see

The chop is a b vs b thing and nullifies the hand (I guess), returning both blinds.

At a live cash game table, "chopping" the blinds is when everyone folds around to the blinds and the players in the blinds elect to take their money back rather than playing the hand and paying rake. Sounds like this feature does the exact same thing.

Downloaded the new version today. Happened to catch a freeroll about to start (under the freeroll tab). Came in 2nd for $5.00. Couldn't find a freeroll schedule so don't know when/how many there are. Since I wd all my $ when they moved (which only took 15 days for a check), guess I may play a few more.

Table is better, not a fan of the replayer, no where near as convenient as stars and ftp. Still annoying that once the freeroll finished, not listed anywhere. Don't like the lobby size, way too big. Game play was ok.

Does Doyles Room allow U.S. players?

I remember something about it from a while back that I couldn't play.
