Im just about to open an account on pokerstars, only ever played on PKR and partpoker, and I want to do it via a rakeback site..someone here recommended rake the rake..

Im confused reading the T&C's though... whats this negative rakeback? How would it be possible for me to owe them money?

Is there a catch to this rakeback that i'm missing?

Cheers

I'd imagine this is in the T & C's because back in the day you used to take a hit on your RB at FT if you bought anything from the store, this meant that you could go into negative RB if you bought something expensive with your FTP's.

It was there because if you were earning FTP's and getting RB from an external party then you were effectively getting 2 forms of rakeback, so if anything was bought with FTP's then your RB took a hit.

EDIT: This might also be the case with PKR if they do some sort of points, might not be though.
2ndEDIT: You wont get any RB on pokerstars from a 3rd party btw, stars RB is done through VPPs and FPPs, and rewards the microstakes part time grinder next to nothing, but traffic makes up for it imo as elsewhere is full of the same small player pool with barely any FR games running, so for me there is no choice really, but if you dont play FR or PLO, then I would say to find somewhere other than stars.

I can accept that the rewards are not great for part time micro, but xxxxx says 13-21% entry level rakeback (from pokerstars) ? Are they lying?

You don't get a flat RB rate, that entry level rakeback will be worked out using the stellar rewards system and the FPP's. What stakes/games will you be playing, and how many hands do you play per month?

I play 4NL and 10NL
SNG $6
Few MTT's per week.

Id say 50k hands per month

Their ad is kinda misleading then..

So its not very positive, but surely, there's nothing to lose right?

You'll prob be a silverstar, and get something like 18-20% RB through the stars VIP system.

Dont worry about negative RB, won't happen
