Need Help with pokerstars Tournament Lobby

I've been trying to figure out how PokerStars Tourney Lobby works.

I'm trying to make the list of players stay still and not move around all the time. As you can see in the image, there is a gray bar always highlighting 1 player. And the list will move according to this player.

So how can I put the lobby in the position I want and have it stay there as long as I want?

When you click on a name in the player list, they gray bar appears because you are selecting it to bring up information on that player. It is not meant to be a tracking bar.

Sort by player name, click the "Player" grey bar up top the list of peoples names, then find the player you want to select and it won't move. By default its sorted by ranking and as peoples chip counts change so does the ranking which is why the list bounces around.

thats the only way to static the list although doesn't really provide much info re the rankings unless you just want to view certain players.

click on someone that has been knocked out their position will never change then use the scroll bar so you can observe chip leaders or whatever else you want to look at.

To my knowledge, that can't be done.
If that's true, I think it is very poor design by PokerStars.

I knew that, but it works only if the list fits in the screen. If you have a big list and try to scroll to top, the highlight will follow at the bottom of the window.

By the way, PokerStars is the only site to my knowledge to limit the complete list (with chip amount) to less than 100 players. Oh you can click on a player and get his chip count but it is very unpractical.

PokserStars will say that providing the list of all players and stats would slow the servers but would it really make such a difference?

Maybe PokerStars did this on purpose as they don't want us to be able to see our position relative to the bubble?

I rate PokerStars Tournament Lobby 1/10 because of lack of important information to play tourneys.

If you're not opposed to it- try the new PokerStars software and see how you like the new interface. Within the PS 7 tournament lobby you can see your chip graph relative to the chip leader and another player of your choice. Within the new software it will also show your position relative to the entire field in the lobby itself.

I know it's not exactly what you're after but at least it gives you a little more information than you are currently getting on the PS 6 software.

Gorak, you can always see your position via the info tab on your table it will show your position out of remaining players so you can see via this in relation to the bubble.

Most sites get nothing near the traffic of stars for its games and thus don't need to limit their lists, as well as stars has so many more games running than anywhere else that any small savings on server processing could be huge. To remove something that seems as minor as limiting the list details in the lobby it would cause degradation which more people would complain about than not being able to see chip count for all players in the lobby.

If you just want to see your own position, just have the info tab clicked instead of the chat tab in your table as sounds like thats initially the information you are looking for.

@LgBassMan: I'm not going to try PS7 as I'm not in the mood right now.

@BluffMeAllIn: I know about the Info tab thing. However it does not tell me what is the chip count stack of the man on the bubble.

I can't believe I'm the only one not liking this grey highlight moving us around in the list.

Side note: the android App doesn't even show our position in the Info tab. I wrote PokerStars about that and they don't care. Nobody seems to care about their position except me lol!

It sounds like you are looking to wait out your way into the money, most people don't care to do this which is why most people probably have no want to know specifically how much closer to busting someone else is than they are.

Just a thought, but I'd be more interested in making good plays and correct decisions for play on the bubble than thinking I can fold my way ITM....re poker on the mobile devices stars and other sites have this available for the more recreational player who probably cares even less about specific chip counts when on the bubble or any other point in the game.

Just some thoughts, hopefully it doesn't come accross too rude as not meant to be......just seems you are more focused on getting ITM than anything which is a disaster for doing well long term in mtt's IMO unless its a one off big $$ mtt that you sattied into in which case the itm rep's a lot of monies etc. Anyhow unfortunatly aside from what is listed in posts above it doesn't seem you can view what your looking for.

Thanks for the advice bluff. I know what you mean and I try to make +EV decisions even close to the bubble. But in some large field tourneys with almost flat payouts until final table, I feel it is so easy to fold until ITM then take a shot.
