Hi, I am just starting out. I am thinking of playing sit and go as a way to start building my bankroll.

Can someone recommend me a good site with the lowest buy ins ? I've looked at fulltitlt and pokerstars but their banking options are very inconvenient for me.

thanks

Well I was going to suggest PokerStars if SnG's is what you want to build your bankroll. There double or nothing tournaments are a good way to grind out a BR.

bodog also has a beginner SnG tourney where they pay top 5 as well.

Goodluck

Instead of SnG's you might consider cash games (Ring Games) - both FullTilt and PokerStars have .01/.02 cent games. A good way to start in my opinion because you can quit anytime. You can get games with a cap that will keep you from going bananas.

I've had success with the Bodog SNGs. They've added a new SNG called "double up" where half the players (5 of 10) will win and double they're money. Plus, like NC Royals said, there are beginner SNGs starting at $2, $4, $8 etc.

Thanks guys for your replies, I will look into bodog. I prefer SnGs becoz of the competition nature of it.

I am looking at everest as well...any thoughts ?

If you can't deposit on fulltilt or PS you won't be able to deposit any other place either. Using a site other than PS or fulltilt is stupid imo. SNG's don't fill fast on other sites, not enough traffic. I would go with PS for SNG's for sure.

Hi, I can deposit to the above 2 sites mentioned, it's really just about the convenience of banking....but PS seems to be the one to go for SnGs from my search here and from what you say.

Thanks

If you're not from the US, I'd suggest playing on Titan for SNG play. They have a zillion different sng structures to choose from (even for STT). The players on Titan are terribad too.... about as bad as the ones on Bodog.

As far as Bodog goes.... I was just about to post about how bad my experience has been on that site. I don't know what it is about the software there but it completely messes with my computer (I can usually open as many sites as I want and have a dozen tables open & running.... although I usually only multi-table around 6-7 max., and can open a bunch of other programs as well and never a problem... BUT when I'm running Bodog, I open just one table on Bodog and I find it freezing up my computer and completely messing me up.).

Personally I preferred Fulltilt over Pokerstars when I was first starting out and playing micro sngs. There's just too many loose calling stations on Pokerstars in the micros to even resemble poker imo.

Whatever site you choose, I think that starting out by playing sngs is a good idea. Advice to ya... stick to one format and try not to switch around very much (ie. if it's 9-plyr. sngs... stick with them... and then choose turbo or reg. and stick to that too). Not until you've played for awhile would I switch around from one game type to another. There's also ALOT of micro buyin, large-field MTT's on Stars that are pretty easy to cash in with some consistency which might help to sway you that way. I liked Fulltilt better and still do today. (and play on half a dozen sites fairly regularly but the majority of my time is on Fulltilt).

Also, as far as depositing options go... I always tell friends & family to use mastercard GiftCard. They are very easy to use, with deposit going thru instantly (come in $25, $50 & $100 increments).

hi Poker Orifice, thanks for your advice...I am leaning towards poker stars. I will keep your SnGs tip in mind. Thanks.

As for cashiering options I guess I have to come to terms with the hassle.

Regards
