Finally going to see some online poker competition between sites since BF. Which network do you think will be better? Who is going to step up and take over as the new US poker leader?

If the Revolution software isn't great, I think Merge can be better. It also depends on the guarantees revolution offers, and if Lock Ops happens. Wouldn't be surprised if people who played on Lock for Merge switch to another Merge skin.

I assume you are talking about Revolution Gaming which is the new name for intertops (cake). I personally like the Merge software better than Cake. I don't see Intertops/Revolution changing much from the current software.

Pretty sure reps have said that software upgrades are on the menu, but obviously those take time to implement. I haven't seen any concrete times, but I would have to think it'll be a few months before we get any significant software changes -- maybe longer.

I will say that I am not a huge fan of Merge software; I wouldn't rate it all that much better than Cake. Less glitchy, but the interface has always bothered me. For some reason I have always had more trouble realizing when the action is on me multi-tabling on Merge. And the filters are awful.

Having said that, Merge is about to release their 6.0 client, which actually improves on a lot of my issues. Tiling/cascading looks nice, as does resizing, and the new tourney filters look awesome -- that has been a LONG time coming. So Lock definitely needs to make it a big priority to revamp Cake's software in order to compete with that.

Regardless, competition can only be good. Lock leaves, Merge brings back rakeback and releases a huge software upgrade. Lock joins Cake and revamps their traffic and tourney schedule (and hopefully their cash outs), with talk of many future improvements.

I definitely agree on the filters. I believe this competition now will help the players out a lot. Finally merge has to do something besides soak up all the US players that have nowhere else to go.

Its fine to ask these questions ... human nature I guess. Thing is one of the products isn't even on the market yet. The Revolution software will likely be more or less the same as current Cake software initially. Give them some time (a few months) and it could be totally different. Its really too early to answer right now ...

Yeah, I don't know why I got all excited signing into Lock & Cake this morning, expecting something worthy of the sites we could play at before BF (as a US player). You're completely right, it will take some time before they get things adjusted for the entire network. Hopefully it won't take too long though.

I think it takes 24 hours for deposits to show in your account--you might want to go back and check about that.

I personally find Revolution easier to navigate when trying to find a specific tourny but which they would put in a diff software for the RNG's. Although I do believe the game is random I also believe the deck is juiced.

EEK they are charging $15 to DEPOSIT? OMG, that is a new low for poker rooms. And then, as a cake skin, they will charge you $50 to withdraw!! I sure won't be depositing on lock
