Great news for US players! Merge network sites will begin accepting new US players again at midnight tonight ET.

It has been several months since US players have been able to open new accounts at the Merge sites.

Carbon Poker and LockPoker are 2 of the most popular Merge sites that US players are playing at. Cardschat currently has some events at Carbon and hope to have more future events there - and some new events at Lock Poker.

USA Poker Players - Don't try to open your new account until after midnight tonight ET. If you are not familiar with these sites you can find out more about them here:

This is awesome news. I cannot get into ring there as the traffic is just stagnant, hopefully this will make the games more exciting with noobs.

Yeah thats how I used to deposit on Stars after they blacklisted even the prepaid visas...I wonder if Cake allows western union to deposit/withdraw...I'm about to download the software now.

From what i've read on the cardschat forums, the merge network was not very good. Seems like the biggest issues were customer support and getting their money. Does anyone have any input? I currently have a Play Aces by Players Only account and I've never really liked that site. Ideas?

I made a small deposit with my banks visa debit the other day and it worked fine.... I had used prepaids in the past but didnt want to run out and load one and have it not work, so I tried my banks Visa debit and it went through fine... I only mention this because Western Union is ridiculously expensive. I dont want to name the bank name here, but it is a regional/local bank so IMO that may be a better way to go than one of the big banks such as Chase, BOA, etc.

This is a good idea, and what I done before they stopped the Rakeback on June 1st.

Minted poker and Betonline

Minted Poker is on the Everleaf Network and Bet Online is on the Hero Network (which may be allied to the Action Network, it's little confusing)

...either way they are not on Merge. There are however many more on Merge
Google 'merge network' and click on 'Partners' to get to a page which shows them all

One note for US players. You will be not accepted if you are living in such states as: New York, Kentucky, Washington DC, Maryland, Washington, Missouri and Louisiana.

Yeah, rough on you man,
There are still some sites that do accept you though, despite local law?

Merge Poker (Carbon Poker & Lock) have casinos besides poker. One can say poker is a skilled game not gamble but those casinos are sure gamble which makes them an easy target.
The poker cards dealing random generators are not as random as pokerstars.

Not as random? Do you have a source for that?
How do you measure relative randomness of 2 systems?
I would have thought that the best that you can hope for, is that they both fall within acceptable limits - the standard deviation.
Any difference within that range is surely due to the fact that they are random.
