Just heard on a table that the merge network has sold. I figure if anyone has info on this it would be a cardschatter.

Alot of the smaller sites seem to be struggling and I kinda see the WALMART effect coming in on line poker...You gotta be big or go home.

And I dont have info here

Merge

I recieved a email a week ago saying Players Only on the Cake Network was moving to Merge so they must be doing something right. Have no knowledge of sale otherwise

The first reports on the Players Only and Sportbook switch were that they had purchased the Merge network, but that story was retracted. As far as I know, Merge hasn't been sold.

Cakes not coming to merge, just players only and sportsbook. I think this is a good thing and I personally would not worry to much about merge shutting down anytime soon.

Whatever they can do to get the numbers up on the network would be a good sign. I hope that someday both the Cake and Merge sites would all consolidate to create a decent player pool for big tournaments that could compete with Stars and FullTilt.

Well PO/Sportsbook only has heavy traffic due to their freerolls. If you check their reviews as sportsbooks which is their main source of income everyone agrees they're horrible/steals players funds. Hopefully they dont drag merge down.

I doubt that very much because they are part of the cake network as of now. Cake is usually regarded as one of the trustworthy sites, this is the first time I've heard of them "stealing" from their players, at least on the poker side of things.

I think he's referring to the sportsbook side where alot of people were sorta scammed because of "fine print" in regards to promotions they ran for sports betting.

The sportsbook side uses a different payment processor, I'm worried that with the new buy-out they wont be using the same processor as they do with Cake. We'll see how this plays out.

I have been playing at PO in the freerolls. Recently they changed the prize amounts on the freerolls and the amount of time one can regerstir. So far I do not like the changes they have made. I do think it is easy to build your BR there but it is hard to find tournments or SNgs at the lower levels. I also do not like their tickt entry system, would rather be able to redeem for cash if I do not want to play in the tournment.

I agree. I don't like the changes to the freerolls either. It was alot better when they just ran two $500 freerolls per night. I don't even bother with them now that they're just $75. Not being able to exchange tickets for cash is also unfortunate. I've had a couple tickets I would've cashed if given the opportunity, but had to play the tourney.

Sportsbook has a D- rating at SBR. I used Cardschat's link to download and make a deposit. I'm very disappointed with Cardschat. I did not know about Sportsbook lousy rating.
