Merge Accolades

I joined Black Chip Poker a few weeks ago, and I earned over 100 VIPs. I know it ain't much but I only play 1 table at a time. When do you start to earn the accolades(stars) beside your username?

nobody knows exactly how you can earn stars but it mostly depend on your how good you play and Profit, accolades and stars are bullshit just think about $$$

I don't care about them, I was curious. They are just nice to have. Money is always what I think about, but I'm trying to just have fun playing poker because in the past I let poker take over my life.

You always want people to think you a fish, the less stars you have the better tbh.

Not if you play aggressive. But thanks for the advice.

I think it might be based on either the amount of hands/or games played, unsure if it is also calculated on games/hands won but I doubt it. I know on Carbon when playing only FunSteps it took me approx. 300 - 400 games to get a 1/2 star and it seemed like less than that to get to a full star. I thought originally that they only gave them for cash games cause it seemed like forever to get the 1/2 star, lol... Just keep playing and getting hands in and you'll eventually unexpectedly see your 1/2 star Bauss...

I've heard this too... I might need to transition from SNGs back to ring for awhile but I'll also second the fact that if you're a good player, which u seem 2 be Bauss, then who really gives a hoot about the stars anyway... The only thing that the accolades let me know is who MIGHT have skillz 'cause alot of the players I see with the highest ones make me wonder what'd they do to deserve 'em... cause a lot of 'em flat suck... jmho

I play ring games, but it's not the strongest part of my game. I usually only play ring games when I am steaming, but I'm working on that. At least now that I donked my way up to $100 from my free bankroll(playing out of my limits) I should be able to prevent myself from steaming so easily by playing low stakes. I am going to start to follow proper BRM because I don't want to lose this money, and eventually be able to make my dream come true by becoming a professional poker player. I'm BaussStacks on Black Chip by the way if anyone cares.

I actually don't think the stars have anything to do with ability at all. I could be wrong on this, but I think I read somewhere they are simply an indirect measure of how long you've been on the site and how frequently you play. They are tied through some formula to the amount of rake you have paid.... Longer on the site, higher volume player, ....more rake paid.....more stars earned.

This is also why you earn stars faster at ring games than SnGs and MTTs where you just pay one small fee and may play for hours depending on the length of the tournament, whereas with cash games they are constantly taking little chunks of rake from you. Also, if you'd rather remain anonymous, you can always elect to have your stars hidden.

Sorry, I had this confused with Carbon for some reason. At Carbon the accolades (ribbons and stuff) are for winning tournaments, special events, and stuff like that. The stars are just given for regular play, based on volume.

How do you hide the stars? I have one with lock and one with BCP and they are both pretty similar (I think maybe 1/2 star difference). I'd be interesting to see how the players play me differently.

Don't know how it is on those two, but on Carbon from the main lobby just go to "Settings". Once there, if its not already selected, go to the "general" tab. Among the options there you'll see a check box to either display or hide the stars.

The stars just represent the volume you put in and the amount of rake you pay.

Just like on pokerstars, they represent how much rake you have paid.

I've looked myself for how much you need to pay to get them, but there seems to be no information.

Tip though, hide them when you earn them. Just another fancy gimmick which generally means you're a degenerate

On Carbon I still think it's by volume unless you can earn rake on play money (Fun Steps)? Because that's where I received my first star, although very slowly tho...

Been doing it all for a while. Still got a half a star. Guess that means i suck.

They did away with the stars. So you keep whatever you earned, but can no longer increase it.
