How difficult (in relation to playing on other poker sites) would it be to make a decent living playing on this site. Some of the draw backs are a 4 table limit when multi tabling in cash games and the anonymous players.

It would be pretty hard unless you like eating hotdogs and ramen. The main issue is because you can only use 4 tables. Even if you're playing 1k nl, which rarely gets 4 tables going, it would be difficult.

I think the consensus is that you need to bet big to win big and Bovada does not have the big games.

What are you talking about?

4 Tabling 10-20 (assuming you have the roll for it) would result in HUGE profits.

People play live 5-10 and making a living. Why would playing 5-10 / 10-20 online with 4x tables and 4x more hands be anything less than a gold mine? Again assuming you can win.

but the online play is way harder, the 5-10 live is like 50 cent - 1 dollar online .. maybe you should add another room like carbon in order to get more tables

If I was going to make a living at playing poker, I would move to a location close to a casino, and then play in high stakes cash games. You would be way better off, than trying to play online, and make a living.

Not to be off topic, but I hate the comparison of online vs live, and 5-10 live is a terrible argument to compare to .5-$1. Its not even close.

Anyways, I do agree online is way harder, however OP claimed Bovada was too small of stakes, and I simply pointed out its clearly the opposite. Its THE only play for high stakes for US players. Period.

Bovada has the best tourney traffic. Is it possible to make a living focusing mostly on MTTs? Most people who seem to want to make a living playing online focus on the cash games.

think MTT table may be better.
Bovada allows about 20 tables MTT...not 4...

Let's make some calculations:

Playing $5/$10 NL (6-max or full-ring). Let's say an average winning rate for a winning player is 3BB from each 100 hands. Let an average rhythm is 100 hands/hour. So your profit from 1 table will be $30/hour. And $120/hour from 4 tables - not bad, right?
All you need is to be good at this level.

If you play lower limits I would recommend to add another room. Carbon is the best option imo.

I am going to say it would be a little higher, but even $30 an hour tax free is over 60k a year.... pretty damn good if you ask me.

Yes its possible, depends how much your trying to make and what stakes. I read not to long ago that highest stakes possible for mtts is about 37$ If become a higher buy in MTT reg and play their line up. You would have to be tougher mentally when you hit patch of variance only playing 4 tables, it will take longer to pull out of downswings. It wouldn't hurt to add a table or two on another site. Ive always felt that more tables(if you play well) results in less variance.

Ime Bovada is better with tourneys. To get the volume you are looking for you may have to play several clients at the same time.
