I have been searching through Google for a long time, and really the only poker tracking software that is available to Mac users is MacPoker Pro. I have already imported 1,000 hands for my free trial, and now I have to purchase it for $39.95 and register if I wish to continue to import hands.
1) Do any of you have any experience with MacPoker Pro?
2) If you have used both MacPoker Pro and PokerTracker, how do they compare?
3) Is paying $39.95 for this software too pricey, or is it worth the investment?
4) Is PokerTracker going to be Mac-compatible any time soon?
-If so, is it worth the wait?

I may be forgetting something. I can always add on later.

PT3 will be mac-compatible, but not until a while after the official release:

PokerTracker • View topic - Mac version?

imo it'll be worth waiting for, though I probably wouldn't be patient enough to wait myself.

It's mentioned in the thread I linked above, but have you thought about buying one of those programs that lets you run XP/vista on your mac on top of your native OS?

How much does said program cost?

Edit: I should probably just look it up myself.

Quite honestly, buying Windows Vista and then buying PokerTracker is definitely not worth the investment.

Probably not...if you're absolutely desparate I guess go and get that mac version, but PT3 will be so kick-ass that I'd say it's worth waiting for.

OK, We will see how I feel about living without stats while still attempting to 6-table 10NL. I guess it all depends on my win rate for the next month or so, then I will make a decision.

I have decided to go ahead and purchase MacPoker Pro. If and when PokerTracker comes out, I will consider the investment, but for now, I will settle with MacPoker Pro. Thanks for your help guys!

Oh Man, I think I have made a huge mistake. After purchasing the software, I received the Serial Number in order to continue using the program.
Every time I enter it in, it reads "Server not available. Try again later."
The FAQ says that if it says that, "be patient and try again later."
I then moved over to the site's forum, where I read numerous posts from people having the same problem as me. Another post says that the owners and mods of the site have completely abandoned it.
I feel like I have been cheated. Hopefully there is just something temporarily wrong with the site, and it will be working soon, but you never know.
Here are some of the links to some of the threads that I read.

Registration impossible

Mac Poker Pro R.I.P. (do not buy this software)

Oh man.

I do not know if any of you realize how pissed I am right now. I just emailed their support, and so far nothing back yet.
I do not know what else to do besides sit and wait.

What was your payment method? If you didn't get what you paid for you should be able to file a dispute with your creditcard/company, bank, netteller etc, for the payment, but they will want you to try to get ahold of them if there is any contact information. Generally a good idea to check out reviews of things you purchase online, beforehand. I also learned this lesson the hard way.

I know you're really not happy right now but you really should check these things beforehand.

I guess keep emailing them - support won't necessarily respond within two days, old programs like this might take longer. If you don't end up getting help from them it looks like you're screwed out of the purchase price. I'll see what I can do to help you, but CHECK these things before man! Rushing things often leads to problems like this.

Dude,If you paid with your credit card, call the credit card company and stop payment on the charge. If the mac pp site is still running ok ....don't worry they will contact you real quick.
I downloaded the free trial but couldn't get it running right. So I tried to contact support to no avail and promptly booted the software off my mac.

I'm gonna wait for poker tracker III for mac.

so, who can tell me, why do people get macs in the first place? unless you do some heavy graphic design jobs with music added, i don't really know any reason you'd have a mac...

GL in your quest to get things straight.

GL in your quest to get things straight.

1) Ease of use
2) No "blue screen of death" .....ever
3) I can run any program (my mac runs windows too)

I guess its just personal choice really.
Lets take your statement from my point of view.
So who can tell me, why do people get PC's in the first place? unless you are a heavy duty gamer or love to make pie charts and chase viruses, malware and spyware all the time,i really don't know any reason you'd have a PC.

I had actually just been researching the thing pretty well. The forum was the one place I didn't look. I looked at software reviews and all of them said their was nothing wrong with the product, at least not this important. The only complaints came from some people who just didn't want to take the time to learn how to use the product.
Yes, I realize I somewhat brought this upon myself, but this product seemed to be used enough where I could trust it.
This problem seems to be only very recent, within a week. It is not like it was abandoned 6 months ago.

I realize that, and it is not worth the investment. Crossover costs major $$ ($60).

It really is just a personal choice....PC, linux, OS X...in the end Firefox is Firefox and pokerstars is Pokerstars
