Hey all,

I've recently started playing at Lock Poker. I deposited a small amount (only $50) and have been playing micro stakes. I want to give it a try while I keep an eye on the US situation.

So far, it's not bad. The interface is not as sleak as FTP or PS, but if you take the time to look around, its fairly friendly.

The deposit method was tricky; I had to deposit using the "Pre-Paid Express" on their casino page (clicking on the tab) and then transfer the funds over to the poker side (sorry everyone...I don't remember the details). I know there are most likely easier ways to deposit (and to claim your bonus) but I didn't take the time to investigate as this is a "trial run" for me.

Has anyone withdrawn from this site with success? Can anyone offer their opinion on the matter?

Good to know there are alternatives...in all honesty, I hope the US actually starts to allow online poker sites within it's borders, even if it means we have to start giving them "their slice of the pie." It would be nice to not have to play in the grey areas.

Before you tell me to go to a B+M casino...I live in a rural village of Alaska. It is quite difficult for me to drive anywhere...I would have to fly. I'm about 400 miles off of the road system.

I am really looking forward to the summer :) I can go home and hit up the local poker room :)

Looking forward to hearing your opinions!

See you at the tables!

I joined just recently also...using the same method as you ..deposit on CASINO and transfer to POKER....it's not bad ...although somethings lost without the sizeable avatars you see on FTP...it's almost too business-like probably because I've never been bothered by friendly chit-chat while playing.....I also LOVED getting the 35% rakeback just for joining....that was sweet!:icon_joke :icon_joke :icon_joke

I like Lockpoker so far.
I have yet to try a withdrawal but had Fun getting up the points for the Cardschat freeroll and making some $ in different multi and sng tournaments.
For me the tournaments are the most Fun.
I look at my deposit as a good investment for entertainment.
Would like to hear if anyone has tried a withdrawal also.

Does any one know how lock poker pay off in freerolls?
Most of the freerolls pay the top 24 players. If I placed in 20th, it says it will pay $2.20 (satellite). Does that mean it will pay a $2.20 satellite ticket or $2.20 cash in your account?

Not sure, pokerchris. I do not play the freerolls...mostly cash games or the occasional SnG.

Sometimes, I play Jacks or Better. For some reason, I seem to get luckier there than at a casino. Not trying to plug...the odds are against you on this particular game...so, maybe I'm just getting "lucky."

Still looking forward to some withdraw success stories.

I withdrew via UseMyWallet on Black Friday in a panic, it went without a hitch. Money was in my account by Wednesday I think. I then proceeded to re-deposit and am running it back up, lol.

It is the site I have chosen to play at now. Seems to be better than some and as good as any we have left to choose from.

Cardschat will be hosting some private events there soon.

Are you able to effectively multitable low-mid stakes SnGs there or is the traffic too limited?

I can get 4 tables of sng's going if I mix $5.50's and $11's. Could get more if I wanted to wait another 5-10 minutes but I play standard speed so don't want to run them that long.

I'm glad thereis a Lock POKER thread.....it is no longer a secret as to the simplest way to get on....it's now part of their addvertisement...my problem with LOCK is that they emailed me daily while I was trying to decide which MERGE site to join...since then they have NOT answered any of my emails ...(not even an acknowlegement to say the email was recieved and we will respond as soon as possible....usually within 4-8 hours! I've gotten nothing for the last 3 weeks....did I miss some notification that their site can no longer handle the email traffic? Anyone else been able to contact them recently?:icon_prof :willy: !

They were very responsive up to a few days after Black Friday when I last contacted them. Haven't contacted them since, however.

answering Chris's question

Hey Chris,

I placed in one of their freerolls, and like you I had no idea how to use my "Satellite Ticket". Go to the Tournaments tab, click Satellite, and organize them by buy-in. Click "register" for any of the Satellite tournaments that cost $2.20. The software will prompt you to confirm registration. Click the drop-down box and select "$2.20 Satellite Ticket". You will be entered into the tournment for free!

To view your tournament tickets, go to the Cashier. Click the "Player Admin" button at the bottom of the webpage. This will open your personal page. Click "My Account" in the left sidebar, then "Tourney Entry Coupons",

Hope this helps! -David

I signed up with Lock on May 17 and deposited via the "Cash Transfer" method. I emailed support after I put $$ in the poker room and asked them to apply my CC bonus. Heard back from them within minutes, so no problems here obviously. :)

Is lock poker its own unique software or just a skin?

Good info from everyone!

I am not sure why some are having communication problems. All of my emails to them have been replied to in a timely manner...I think the most I waited was an hour.

After using it for awhile now, I believe the only thing I don't like is the interface. I hate how some things can't be done unless you are in a web browser...withdrawls, for example. If I can't find an option, there isn't much help for you. It's kind of like...trial and error.

Overall, I believe it is a solid site. I still have not tried to withdrawl; I am still building my bankroll. Slow and steady wins the race :)

Good discussion here :)

Not Lock's fault, but QuickTender/UMW has apparently gone under due to seizure. Thankfully I didn't have funds in transit, and they were great while they worked. Looks like I'll be getting my Lock funds via check from now on. Click2Pay is an option but they aren't accepting new signups.

Is lock poker its own unique software or just a skin?
It's a Merge skin. Same general software as Merge, with look & feel customizations for Lock.

After using it for awhile now, I believe the only thing I don't like is the interface. I hate how some things can't be done unless you are in a web browser...withdrawls, for example. If I can't find an option, there isn't much help for you. It's kind of like...trial and error.
As with all Merge skins, and I actually prefer it.

BTW whether you realize it or not, many other poker clients (including UB/AP) are rendering their content in a browser as well -- it's just embedded in the client so it looks like a separate, native application.

Been playing lock for a month. Numbers seem to be going up on merge, so the action is getting more plentiful. I deposited $25 and got $100 in bonus for it, don't know how that happened.(lock welcome and lock something else, both 2x). Gonna miss the Ronin promotion, real nice supplement.
Tried to withdraw 500 and it has said processing waiting approval for a week now. If any1 US or non-US has successfully withdrawn since black Friday please let me know.
I think the worse here, they can say screw you, what are you gonna do about it US player, and what could we do about it.

Server seems to go down for me quite a bit recently...

It doesn't like to run via Wine on linux...

Otherwise I am fine with it.
