Ok. I'm just going to have to step in it here. I have to ask.

Why are we still advertising Lock poker? What am I missing....

While I am so pleased that CardsChat supports its members and this site has gone out of its way to help people with late payouts, etc; (making me glad I joined this bandwagon) I'm still a little confused. Not helping are the banners above this window as I write this, that do not have a "Lock" tab, but at the list of topics, there is one there. As if we ourselves are not sure about this?!?

The site has some horrible issues that just are not going away. They have done things which suggest a less-than-advertised quality of service. While I agree that there could simply be a lot of rumor and speculation going on, unfounded at best, panic driven lies at worse, they just do not seem to be a site I would trust putting my money into. Several things that they have done that are a matter of record make it so. This entire "no longer honoring player-to-player transfers" issue...they hock this feature, then renege on the deal leaving players SOL? Do I have that correct? And what about the security issues I have been hearing about...passwords not being encrypted? WOW. And that is just the tip of the iceberg?!?

Look, I have no horse in this race, so maybe I should not be speaking of it. I am just a new guy. And of course, If I am lucky enough to make the freeroll league, I'm sure that sooner or later I'll be playing there. And I have no idea of what CardsChat is getting in return for this advertising outside of hosting the freerolls we have there. So, the up-ies could well outweigh the down-ies for us as a community. I mean, come on, if you are not charging me for everything I am getting here, it's got to paid for somehow or someway!

But I'm getting that "Full Tilt" feeling, if you know what I mean? So, just where do we stand?

I agree with you and unfortunately I play heavily on lock, and ultimately want it to succeed, but would not be a bit surprised to see it falter. As for the advertisements, I'm sure this is where lock decides to spend a bit of its own coin, unfortunately a lot of the players are left empty handed.

Lock has had some trouble but they are trying to get players there money, and have gotten some players there money. I'm glad Cardschat still supports lock they shouldn't turn their back on a company that is trying and wishes to succeed.

Spreading fear is BAD the more people that are reading all this bad stuff and staying away from and leaving lock isn't only going to hurt Lock its going to hurt the players with money in lock poker because if Lock goes out of business the players most likely will not get paid.

If Lock poker was completely disregarding and not trying to fix the problems they are currently having then yes I would say spread the word and CC leave Locks side but this doesn't seem to be the case.

I think Lock should make an announcement telling players what the problem is and explaining what they are trying/going to do to fix it and to make sure it never happens again. (if they haven't already)

Where are you talking about? There is only 1 banner above and it is for Bovada. (ROW see something else but it would not be Lock).

****Edit - now I see what you are talking about - will let someone know about that. It was probably an oversight - go to your homepage or other pages and you won't see that.

Then, at what point do we say "enough"

I want them succeed as well! But if there are no consequences for ones actions, there are then no reasons to stop doing bad things!

You think I enjoy asking this question? No, no I do not. And I promise if I hear from reasonable sources that they are back on track, I'll try to be the first one to ask "are we bringing them back into the fold with us?"

But until such time as they start acting like a legitimate business concern who cares about the customers they have, I just cannot in good conscience do it.

Thank you D; It really was painful to write. I lose a little piece of me with every fallen site. I truly hope they get back on track and we can support them once again.

I have had funds tied up in Lock since Feb. I have emailed everyone possible. It seems like they send out auto responses that dont even answer your questions. I wish this situation would get better for the simple fact that there aren't many big sites to play on anymore. They had decent software as well as a lot of different games. However if people arent getting paid why would you just want to throw your money away or even play a free roll? It just seems like you would be doing a lot of work for no reward.

I understand, That's why I'd like to hear an official statement on the situation and what is being done.

I will definitely have to do that. It would be awesome if I could get a resolution to my withdrawal problem. Thanks for the help. Does anyone know of any good sites for U.S. players? It seems like every site that I check only has a couple medium stakes tables going at a time. I think I may have been ruined by pokerstars and fulltilt where you could find a 10 handed game at any stakes up to 5/10 anytime of the day.

I've got a withdrawal request on 4-16 that still has not even been verified. A lot of people have been waiting a lot longer so I don't care so much that I don't have my money what's really aneurysm inducing is the fact that people who have requested after me already have cash in hand and I have not even been verified!?

Players who have joined after May 10th will be helped at a later date. The reason they did this is because they don't want people to just hop on the Cardschat banwagon just to get their Lock money and leave.

You got of think of Cardschat as a pretty respectful girl, you gotta give her some attention and time before she gives you what you want =)

U.S. Sites

Does anyone know of any good sites for U.S. players?

Lets see, I have.....

Hustler casino/Card player
Hogwild
(These are subscription sites, but you do not have to subscribe to play for prizes)
WPT
(Subscription site that is almost impossible to play on w/o subscribing, except play money)
Lock
juicy stakes
Cake poker
(Trouble sites)
Carbon
Aced
Poker Host
(merge)
Americas CArd Room
Black Chip poker
True poker
(same systems?)
Bovada
(Stand alone?)
Bet online
(Stand alone?)
Barona online poker (prizes only)
Poker Dominicana (Very small, lots of fish, have no idea about cash outs, this one truly flies under the radar to most american players, very small numbers of players)
Ultimate poker
sportsbook
party poker
888

What have I forgot? The ones we advertise, but you already know those.....wait, Titan DOES NOT accept US players.....

I'd stay away from Lock unless you have someway to get your $ off. I ended up giving .50c on the $1 to a couple friends. The rest is all monopoly $ imo and gets treated as such. Carbon is on the same boat. Been waiting 10 weeks for a payout request. Bovada's cash out took under 2 weeks.

I was unaware that there were so many sites accepting us players. However what is the traffic like? I look at brovada occasionally and it seems like it is all micro stakes games. The same thing with black chip. I just wish that one site could get something going where they had a lot of traffic all the time and could pay out on time. Bet Online when I played there was up front with me and said my check was going to take awhile due to their payment processor. They ended up sending my money through western union for free the next day. There is not a lot of customer service like that in this industry anymore. As much as everyone hated fulltilt at the end. I think before shit hit the fan that was one of my favorite sites. You could play any ring game you wanted at anytime and the payouts took days. Obviously now things are different but it seems like sites like lock and carbon had a good thing going with decent traffic and the screwed it up by not giving players their funds.

You are correct sir! I think I only have them installed in case they do come back here. Poker Dominicano does, but wow, It's a small site. You might log on at night and only see five or six players at the cash tables.

Hmmm.....

Anyway, thanks for catching this!

Well, scratch 888 and party - No US players allowed. (Sorry). What about Merge? While I was unhappy with the donk play; A professional Donkey got my few remaining $$ by not laying down a lousy pair of fours in the face of overwhelming odds to suck out to trips on the river, beating my two-pair (AK); Yes, I was in position, 3x bet preflop, 2/3rd pot on the flop, and shoved the turn since I also had a three card flush to go with it. He happily called my all in for all his money with those freaking fours. But hey, these are the kind of players you want, right? I think I would stick to carbon, I have been hearing some wild stuff about Aced; They also recently shut down Iron Duke. I have no idea, however, what their payouts are like. Could be great, could suck like a hoover.

As far as traffic, The last time I was there, lots of tables were full, but check this out: Many had the same players on them! So, what does that mean? Four or more guys, four or five tables at a time! Hard to concentrate against a suave player like yourself, I would imagine, right? This means they are most likely playing a very mechanical game. That could be good or bad. Try to start a free bankroll by playing the fun steps...second thought, do not play the fun steps, you will never talk to me again, lol.

I have been happy at Aced and have an affiliate group there.

I like to play 2-3 hopefully 10 handed tables at a time. This doesnt happen much anymore. Its all 6 max nowadays. I was able to find this on BetOnline and Carbon but like you said its all the same players. After awhile it gets boring.

You were saying build a free bankroll? Do you mean play the free rolls? I have never done that before.

I've heard about Lock Poker having trouble with sending money to people. That's why I only play cash games and expect to cash out in a casino. Before when the ring of online poker games paid out I cashed out checks straight from the sites. Now I like to be safe and just play freerolls to cash. It takes more electricity than what I win, but if you can save enougth to get a western union or a check. You can keep you game up to par without even depositing a cent. It just takes patients and no gambling after you win a freeroll. Just freeroll any site you don't trust to a win like Lock Poker, BetOnline, etc.

I am getting hugely disappointed with the process of lock poker. I understand people have been waiting months. I have been waiting 1 month and am getting very upset at how long this is taking. I don't understand why they have such a stupid process. They promised me 4-5 weeks, now it looks like it's gonna be much longer.
